Amazon doesn't sell most DIRECTV equipment, but their marketplace partners do. Amazon is very good about acting as a gobetween for you if you have a problem, but in my experience they don't really understand the difference between owned and leased equipment, and while they certify their product, they seem to have only minimal awareness of the large amount of stolen equipment out there being sold as legitimate equipment. This is something that you hear the legitimate web sites talk about all the time... that unscrupulous installers mark something as replaced or installed when the customer doesn't need it replaced or installed, so there's this piece of equipment out there that didn't cost anything and it's being sold far below cost because it didn't really cost anything.
Over the past 12 months I have purchased a LOT of DTV eqpt thru Amazon.
SWM16 w/PI, 4way splitters, 2way splitters, a 21v PI, 5 remotes and a SWM LNB! Is all of this "stollen"? The vendors all seem to be legit, they sell other products! In the past I purchased thru Solid Signal, the sattleliteshop.net, but these prices are sometimes half of what SS charges! Are they selling "grey" or "black" market DTV products? There must be a supply other than tech's providing them! I would love to find out the truth!
