I am a fan of the Showtime program "Dexter". I started watching at the beginning of Season 4 and now wanted to go back to watch the first 3 seasons. Well when I checked Showtime On Demand, channel 1545, the other day all seasons and all episodes (except Season 1, ep 10?) were listed so I set up to download the first 3 seasons only to find out they expire 12/18so last night at midnight all recorded episodes were deleted automatically. Now comes the fun part. I do a Smart Search on "Dexter" and lo and behold I find all of the episodes I wanted and they have an expiration date of 1/29 so I download them and can view them with no problem. When I go back to Showtime On Demand (ch 1545) the episodes are not listed - only season 7.

Why do episodes show up in Smart Search with a later expiration date and not on the On Demand channel itself?

OK - an update. I checked ch 1545 and now all the episodes for Dexter are listed again. DTV's implementation of On Demand leaves a lot to be desired IMHO.
