How long does it take to roll out new code? I hear there is new firmware, but all my boxes still have code from June.

It normally rolls out from California where the Corporate Headquaters are and if all goes well from that first rollout then it get rolled out to the rest of the US and then finally we on the East Coast will get it if there are not a lot of problems.

It can take up to a month or so if Directv encounters problems that needs to be fixed.

Also depends on number of units. HR34 generally goes pretty fast, there are comparatively few receivers compared to Hr20-24 and H21-25 combined.

Both my HR24-500s were updated to 0x62c last night. Menu hoping speed is faster but channel changing speed is longer. Will wait 24 hours to give everything time to rebuild.

In my case it is rolling out rather oddly, since I have four HR2X units and it has been downloading to each one at a different time spsread out over a few weeks.

I think it is finally on all 4. I haven't checked but the first one was I believe around 12/4 and the one I noticed most recently was last week.

If I understand the question (always subject to debate) here are the units and the date they received 062c...

HR20-700 12/4 @ 3:39AM
R22-100 12/18 @ 3:59AM
HR21-200 12/12 @ 3:58AM
HR22-100 12/18 @ 3:59AM

So the R22 and HR22 got it at the same time apparently.

I sometimes think that SW comes on specific model since my HR24-200 got it first then the HR22-100 or whichever model needs it the most.

Depends. It depends if a feature is being added or changed. Those changes will cause calls to their CSR and to avoid overloading those centers, the SW is spread over several nights.
