Thanks guys for the replies again. Hmm, I may have to rethink of whole home d r then. I may still call d* to see how much would it cost. I am more worried about them wanting me to commit for new 2 yrs contract, as I have fulfilled my term. I may just stick with my current set up, as the r22 has a 1tb external and hr21 just got a new 2tb attached to it few days ago.

When I got the DECA system installed I was out of comittment and it was installed at no charge. They also gave me a 24-500, which I didn't really want at that time, but at no charge for the HR I couldn't pass it up. I'd keep calling until I got someone who made a similar offer.

You can get it done at no charge, but your only weapon is the comittment. Two years flies by, why worry about it?

Even tho it's owned? Yeah, I guess that would be an upgrade.

Missed that it was owned, but yeah, I think it would be considered an upgrade. It would not be nice if he ended up with an HR21, two year contract for the same box.

Which leads me to this question: What will happen if I accept D*'s offers and take a 34 (not gonna happen, just a hypothetical question) that replaces two owned HRs? Since they're selling the 34s for $99 for some folks, does that still count as an upgrade and will I own it?

I would think it wold be leased. Supposedly no one is really supposed to have an owned one, though they are out there (like Jerry's).

Would be my guess too.

I should get confirmation of this today. Will post as soon as I read the PM I'm waiting for.
