Fell asleep watching ota on am21, dvr shut off from power saving function, now I can't get the hr23 to power back on. Tried to do reset, disconnected am21 from dvr, switched boxes from different location, still can't get hr23 to power on. Running out of ideas. Help!

Is the hr23 power cord connected directly to a good power outlet and not through the am21?

the hr23 power cord plugs into the am21 which powers the hr23, no separate plugs for each. plugged into good power source.

Try leaving HR23 unplugged for thirty minutes. Then try again to power up.

I left both unplugged overnight, but that didn't seem to help. Noticed today the fan on left side of hr23 clicks, but doesn't spin. I've tried just about everything. I am beginning to think I'm just out of luck, I think it's just fried.

I agree. Time to call DirecTV for a replacement receiver.
