I'm referring to the channels themselves, not DirecTV's capabilities. Yes they could do that, but the channels would have to provide it first. In most cases the SAP feed is only in dual mono and not strictly Spanish. After the disability act went into effect many channels like USA and Disney now use their SAP feed for a mix of Descriptive Video and Spanish audio depending on the show, so it would create some problems if they enabled it by default.

They are not getting TNT with dubbed audio, TNT only distributes three APIDs on their C-Band feed, the main English feed, SAP for DVS, and a third APID that has low bitrate audio for cue tones to trigger local breaks at the headends.

The Spanish feed, which is no longer on DirecTV Puerto Rico after they migrated to DirecTV Domestic, is a completly different channel targeted towards Latin America:

I guess the simplest thing to do just to be sure, is to have the correspondent over there, Luispr, tell us what kind of audio feed they are receiving on those 99ca mirrored CONUS+ channels over there.

SAP isn't something you can really enable by default for many channels. These days the SAP feeds for most major channels like USA, TBS, TNT, Nickelodeon and Disney are used for descriptive video instead of Spanish audio. The few exceptions are some premium channels, WWE programming on USA, and some shows on Disney. Whenever channels like USA and Disney aren't using SAP for Spanish, they use it for descriptive video for the blind. Some channels also just play a loop saying SAP isn't available for the current show and direct you to use the main audio.

Here's one that will throw you off... Major League Soccer games on Unimas/Univision Deportes on the SAP has English play by play with Ramses Sandoval and as of lately Keith Costigan. Prior to two weeks ago it was Paul Caligiuri but he was so so so bad they finally got rid of him. Sandoval isn't much better. Funny part is if you go on Twitter during games look up the hashtag #MLSSAP and enjoy the constant making fun of the play by play. It's a hoot.

I live in PR and we get now after the migration the US version of the channels, with few exception like, discovery and animal planet that we had both the Latin American and US version, and some other. We had few channels from Latin American, but the most channels are the US feed. All the US are in English, but some had SAP in Spanish if available, if the program not had the SAP in Spanish you hear the audio in English.

I don't know if after the migrations complete we will be able to see the channels from the conus like Dish. Because Directv not offer PPV movies and On Demand content, like Dish do.

Wonder what this might be about?

Preparing to move SD local KTLA (CW) from spotbeam to a CONUS beam on D8 and then remap as local channel number 5 in the guide for the LA market?

Could this be a coming DNS CWw replacement for XETV (San Diego) on ch. 395?

Update: Today, SHEF command reports KTLA 5 SD on spotbeam xpndr 18, VPID 0050. So still coming from D9S/D4S, but switched xpndrs from 28 to 18.

The entire Salt Lake City DMA should now be able to get HD locals.  The D14 beam A20 (used by TID 68 and 94) is specifically shaped to cover the huge Salt Lake City DMA.
