It is there, but usually only viewable with the proper access card. Sixto can see the listings without one of these cards, as it's "in the clear", but even he can't actually watch them. However, at least in the past, there was a "bug" in the HR34 that made it possible to indirectly access them. You had to search for a show that was on, and sometimes the HD feed would show up in the results. Tune to it or record it, then add it to the quicktune screen. Didn't work for all shows.

I don't know if this still works.

Test is for directv testing. Data is in the stream but only visible for those with test cards (internal testers). There was/is a bug on HR34 that channels can be accessed through a back door.

Okay, thanks. Makes sense. I figured there had to be a difference in how things worked when they were in test status, as otherwise there would be no point in distinguishing it as such.

Looking forward to the announcement in this thread when they're officially live.

Guess my rural outlander status is secure.

I was hoping for RFD in HD.

LOL, or should I say Hee Haw?

Great News! Was expecting 4 or 5 new HD channels, but not 8. And as SR mentioned earlier, more HD will follow. Thanks to Sixto for the updates.

Just to set a few expectations here, things can always change, testing can reveal issues, etc. However, if all goes well, then you'll see multiple channels on multiple days launched soon. The dates are locked in, but until testing is complete I'd rather not say what those are in the event something unexpected comes up. Safe to say the first date is soon and the second date is quickly thereafter. Good stuff, thanks for your patience. We're working hard to expand even more HD this year. This will not be the end if all goes to plan.

I keep forgetting this, but there are times it would be nice to get FSN Cincinnati HD full time.

Thanks SR for all that you and our DirecTV brethren do behind the scenes at DirecTV.

This is certainly a great mix of new HD channels.

And I'll continue to always end every TEST announcement with "no guarantees" ... testing needs to be completed, and we live in a fluid world ...

Thanks again.

Thanks Sixto for the Friday guessing game. It was a lot of fun reading the thread and looking at people's guesses. The Hustler HD guess was hilarious! Have a nice weekend.

If all goes to plan, yes. Of course definition of soon is different for everyone.

I'm always happy to see any HD station added since it will make plenty of people happy. I'm most happy with the addition of H2 since one of my favorite shows moved from HistHD....Ancient Aliens. I'm also happy with Cook; Food has way to many competition shows on there now. Thanks DirecTV....keep'm coming!!!!

Now that we are getting Cooking, H2, and ID, the only other channels I want are:

Universal Sports
Military
WE

As long as we get Universal Sports in time for the start of the Giro d'Italia on May 4, I will be very happy.

I would rather have Sundance than IFC. IFC now puts commercials in their movies and has now targeted youth with its original shows, with the exception of Portlandia.

Sundance has begun producing high end drama series and will be adding more of those in coming months. Maybe we will get Sundance in the next additions.

And I still hope for Ovation, which shows BBC and Australian drama series you cannot see elsewhere.

At these new channels going on TP's taking them to 6 channels or did they free something else up and keep it at 5?

See post My Setup for configuration info.

They had moved stuff off D10, these are all on D10 TP1 & TP2.
