I can't help but think back to the days when D-12 first launched and how certain people thought it was a "dead bird" because of the perceived delays. Then there were the people who adamantly claimed that we'd not be getting any more HD because there was not enough capacity. Most of us didn't waste our time and effort defending DirecTV, we just waited patiently. With this latest (soon to be) 8 channel addition it makes it all the more gratifying.

But is it bad that I am already wondering what's next after these 8 channels despite the fact they haven't yet launched? haha

I keep holding out hope for Pac 12 Networks. After that it would be Universal Sports...

The other channel that could come into play would be CSNNW if they pick up the NBA Kings (Sonics?) games next year. If the games go to Root Sports then I would imagine CSNNW is a dead issue.

I really would like to see HRTV finally get added, been waiting for ever for DirecTV to add it. Even though this is mainly about HD additions, HRTV should be carried on ch. 603, because TVG ch. 602 is the only horseracing channel DirecTV has. We don't subscribe to satellite for just one channel of programming, whether it be movies, news, or a variety of sports, so HRTV is a much needed addition.

I don't see the new HD channels yet. When I turn into 204 for HLN, it is still in HD. Am I missing something here?

You mean HLN is still in "SD." :)

Anyway, the new channels are only up in test mode presently. And you won't see or be able to tune to them until they formally launch.

I think there's one of those 30-minute infomercials that offers a solution to that problem. They said it was a miracle of science and all natural too. :sure:

I'd tell ya, the new HD additions will make the price increase more palatable, especially Investigation Discovery and H2.

If there is truly one channel left that I want from D* it is CSN Philly now that the Flyers will play again, plus CSN Houston for solidarity.

I will start pushing for Spanish HD in the meantime like Univision Deportes, BeIN Sport En Espanol, Fox Deportes, and Telemundo DNS

Not bad at all. Especially since satracer has indicated this is not the end.

For those who desire Chiller HD.....you might lobby for a seemingly similar HD channel that is currently being added to several TWC systems...Fearnet HD http://www.fearnet.com/ Has Directv ever considered this one? Apparently several cable companies carry it in SD as a linear channel and as VOD. I don't see anything about HD on their website but TWC has mentioned them in some of their press releases.

Dang, I take 1/2 day away from the thread and the darn thing blows up on me! :)

Three channels I'll watch semi-regularly there now that they will be in HD, and two more I'll probably watch from time to time. At least two channels the wife will be happy to have in HD.

Nice haul.
