Given SR’s recent post, a long-standing inability to reach agreement with Comcast, the RSN surcharge and DirecTV’s repeated articulation of concern about programming costs, I hold little hope for a near-term (or, indeed, long-term) addition of CSN Philadelphia. Were that to occur, however, HD networks of principal interest to me would be Military/Military History.

It's a good thing that we have the Sixto Report and can subscribe to it.

One simple way to reduce the number of pages you have to review to find your last read post is to increate the pagesize to 40...

Maybe the RSN surcharge will help pay for the missing RSN's (NW, Houston, Philly) isn't that what its for?

Thank you, Sixto!

Thank you, mreposter, for giving me credit for having guessed [up to] five for which to anticipate (the ones on chs. 204, 232, 253, 271, and 304).

This is encouraging.

(Side note: I wasn't here yesterday [Friday 01.11.2013] because I'm sick with the flu. Didn't feel like turning on the computer. I'm not as bad today. But the news keeps reporting of an epidemic of flu in 47 states. So, I don't think I'm the only one at this site who has been hit.)

Does anyone know how IFC and TV Land handle their non original programming? I hope TV Land doesn't stretch to fill the screen for their older shows.

TV Land uses pillar boxes so it retains the original 4:3 ratio, I don't know what IFC does.

This is good. I've been watching more and more H2 recently. It seems to be the one that actually airs history related content that interests me and not drivel about pawn shops and such.

It seems like channel names have less and less to do with the actual content any more.

History Channel, The Learning Channel and Velocity come immediately to mind.

Weren't a lot of these old shows shot on film so even though the ratio is 4:3 the picture quality will be a lot better in HD.

I looked through (almost) two weeks of TV Land's schedule last year and found that a great deal of their content is either available in HD, or can be transferred to HD.

Whether or not TV Land has that content in HD to offer... that may be a different story!

Enjoy everyone. A great day for DirecTV HD.

And I apologize for dragging this out a little bit, but with these HD anticipation threads going on for months and months (and years), I just thought that some of you might might enjoy a little suspense, but I also know that some get upset with games. Sorry to offend anyone, but figured what the heck.

And remember, no guarantees. Anything can change, but that's what's in the stream today.

Thanks Sixto!
