Looks like Zeus is in Presque Isle, ME
The issue is they only have 2 stations there
WAGM (CBS main Fox subchannel)
Maine PBS station

So Directv would have to import ABC & NBC from Bangor

Be more specific, that's like 10 of them.

I meant largest county by land area, not DMA. Sorry.

It would be the one in white on the map that I posted above (Aroostook County; Presque Isle DMA). Blue = HD Locals / White = No Locals. The entire northeast has HD locals with just one DMA with NO locals.

In any event, I have an AM21. The signal is sketchy at best, only works on one tv and the local dual affiliate (CBS/FOX) does not offer waivers as their map shows the entire area can receive its signal (at 30 feet above the ground, which would call for a massive antenna rig.) Not that it matters as they don't even broadcast both of the networks in HD OTA so other measures have to be taken.

It would just be nice to have my actual locals in HD via my receiver, that's all. It's at the top of my HD anticipation wish list...

Well what about ABC and NBC? If there's no local affiliates, D* has to give you the national feeds via WNBC and WABC out of NYC.

You are correct, although that was not a workable solution for me as I refused to watch the Superbowl or World Series in SD. I took another path and I am anxiously awaiting the day when my locals are on D* - in HD. I just think the fact that they are not even offered in SD shows the level of interest D* has in providing that service (unlike E* which had them up years ago).

E*'s business plan has always been to cater to lower-income customers, largely in the smaller SMSAs. Charlie Ergen even alluded to this during the AMC blackout when he said "Our customers don't watch AMC."

I would still like DirecTV to reconsider their ridiculous decision to remove GolTV in HD from the sports pack and place it in SD in a Spanish language package. This is a channel I watched in ENGLISH no less!

Boggles the mind...

+1, I used to watch Bundesliga on GolTV all the time, and with the uncertainty around Fox soccer channel later in the year, looks like we're losing more soccer than gaining.

At least 3 of the upcoming channels are showing in HD on the iPhone app. I didn't check the 500s tho.

Looks like LMN, ID, and TVLand.

Those three also disappear if you click "Hide SD Duplicates" on the Directv guide page.

They didn't disappear last night, because I checked. So that's new for today.

541 and 559 still appear with "hide SD duplicates". So three this week, it looks like.

Correct, my beliefs and thoughts are mine..

So we agree to disagree, funny how some of the other posters here mentioned THE EXACT SAME THING I alluded to in regards to price increases that usually followed other goodies being added to the channel dial...That was the norm when I had big CABLE back in the 80's & 90's used to spike up their bill and trickle a few channels in here and there..some were 24 hour some shared then came the new cable boxes so did annual increases and newer basic channels..

Dont get me wrong I appreciate all your news.. just not the word association games from the past..nor do I appreciate anyone (not you SR) telling me what to believe in because I better do so, no matter how revered someone is...I get it, but I am entitled whether right or wrong to feel however I want..

Game on God Bless..Off to the bar to clean some beer taps and fill in new kegs..PEACE
any of you guys ever in NYC hollar, couple of rounds on me..

No problem. I understand how you get there. I only invite you back for similar discussion later in the year when more HD is added and we're nowhere around around a price increase. ;) Fair enough?
