Yes, and it was like this on DirecTV DVRs for a while and I had to keep Deleting or Unchecking New Channels that I did not want in my Customized Favorite Channel List. :nono2:

Yeah...the challenge there is that most folks add channels as opposed to downsize their favorites list. The current method seems the only way to address both philosophies on custom favorites (as Scott K mentioned). Since that process only happens a few times a year and takes a couple minutes to address...it would seem the pain is minimal.

i come to this forum daily! i enjoy all the HD channels we get. It just gets me that the same people say if they get this channel or th at channel they will be happy< they get them and still complain!

That's been going on since we started out with the first group of HD channels several years back. They'll inevitably always be a few folks who simply like to complain for the sake of complaining and a couple others who seek perfection in a world where perfection doesn't exist. Sadly, that's just the way it is and always has been.

Really the only thing I use the guide for regularly is checking out the premium movie channels to see if there's anything I want to record.

Turning Hide SD Duplicates off/on again in settings did take care of it.

I don't use a favorites list because if I'm genuinely cruising the guide it is because I'm not looking for anything in particular, and would rather let something catch my eye, so don't care to subset.

I use favorites because I don't want to wade through the ppv channels and the porn channels and the music channels and most of the sd channels and the interspersed shopping channels. And the SD dupes of the sports pacs...

I actually USE the guide regularly. I record all the stuff I like to watch regularly but I do a lot of live or casual viewing. If I have 20 hours of recorded stuff, I am behind.

As for turning off and on, my main dvr went completely bonkers last time I did that, which I posted. Not worth the risk.

I love having a Favorites guide and use it as my primary guide all the time. I can't imagine not having it.

I also set up a Sports only guide so I don't have all of the sports secondary channels (Big Ten spillover channels, etc.) cluttering up my Favorites guide.

Sad is the Proper Method Of Expressing it as I Do Not Like Having My Customized Favorite Channels List being Tampered with and that is why it is a CUSTOMIZED LIST!!!

In other news, ITU OK's the new HEVC codec!

High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) Promises to Use 50% Less Bandwidth Than MPEG-4

http://www.multichan...standard/141387

That will help migration to 100% HD and a good trickling of 4K anticipation.

Finally someone else that wants RFD-TV HD. I have been asking for that for 2 years. I guess we are the only 2. The founder was in talks with D in Nov. I have been trying to get info from him as to the content of the meeting. So far looks as if did not have success. Tough to watch that channel in SD as many of the shows are shot in HD and cropped both horozontal and vertical. Stretch-O-Vison looks bad on a 46" TV. Much as I want it I will not swap to Dish to get it. Just don't like their technology. Come on D how about RFD_TV HD!!

A long way off until we see anyone actually using it, but good news nonetheless.

This time, I noticed that the channel logos are still intact, although they do not have HD after them. Normally these disappear for awhile until after they have updated them. ION HD still has not been updated after several months.

Good to see the logos added at launch. Just need to update them with the HD designator beside them. No ION HD or Comedy Central HD logos as of yet.

I'm happy about the impending availability of H2 HD but unhappy about the long-standing unavailability of CSN Philly HD! :)

I had a provider before DirecTV that didn't offer the option of favorite lists. It was a huge drawback. I'm not sure why someone wouldn't use that feature to see the channels they actually care about about, while hiding the ones they don't care about.

I use the favorites list religiously. I have it named Big Sexy which was a little embarrassing when the tech showed up on a service call.

I'd like to have CNN International back. I gather from this old thread that it was dropped in 2004. I'd like to watch Richard Quest's and Christiane Amanpour's shows, for instance. It is carried on some cable systems.
