It would be nice if they would go ahead and add RetroPlex and IndiePlex, I had them when I had Dish Network, and they had some pretty good movies on them.

I agree on plex. I have them in SD on fios. Great selection of movies. I remember directv has the rights to them.

Is there a feasbile shot at BBC World News becoming added to the lineup of DirecTV? (Be it in SD and/or HD?)

I haven't looked to whether it is getting much carriage by other providers and was figuring it might take another year to become even more established.

I have the feeling The Hub HD will get added by DirecTV this year. Not feeling the same, necessarily, with the brand-new high def for Military Channel. Nor with likewise Discovery Communications brand Oprah Winfrey Network HD.

I'm not really sure. There isn't a big cost involved with this channel, as they don't show any large studio productions that make other channels expensive. It's all news and related documentaries.

Adding an SD channel won't be a big bandwidth hog either.

It's probably one of those channels that is low on the list with the average American that truly believe that Fox, and CNN bring you all the news there is to know, and truly unbiased at that. :D

I watch the PBS news bulletins, and I also think that is what DirecTV is using as one of the reasons not to add it: Look, your local PBS has the same BBC News.

But that is not what it is about.... News changes with every hour that passes.

I would love BBC World, but also CNN International.
[Disclaimer] The definition of "soon" is based solely on DirecTV's interpretation of the word, and all similarities with dictionary definitions of the word "soon" are purely coincidental and should not be interpreted as a time frame that will come to pass within a reasonable amount of time.

I am the Stig.

You may be right. Add bbca to having bbc world news.

As for news changing every hour. Is bbc world news really that reactive? The radio version is more like NPR than CNN or fox in terms of tracking news. (I really don't know.)

Yes, it's a completely different deal. I had it here in Austin on Time Warner for a while. It's as up to the moment as any other service.

It's much like CNN International, only you get the feeling that these people really know what they're talking about.

But not HSN HD along with QVC HD?!

I think it's going to happen. Just a matter of when.

So QVC vs. HSN is as divisive as Ford vs. Chevy or even Republicans vs. Democrats? ;-)

even more so. Watch "In the Kitchen with David" on QVC and you will see why HSN is the minor leagues baby!

Both HSN HD and QVC HD look great in linear high def. I saw them both, last year (or it may have been 2011), on a display from AT&T U-verse and Comcast.

I think they're not such high priority, with DirecTV, but that they will come in. No one apparently can say how many more linear high definition programming will get added in 2013 by DirecTV. If we get up to five more, I wouldn't bet on either of them.

My wife would love QVC in HD. Fortunately for me she is largely just watching and not buying.

That would be Comcast. They bought NBC/Universal from GE about a year ago. So Comcast now owns channels including SyFy, Bravo, MSNBC, Weather Channel, USA, Chiller, Cloo and G4 (soon to be rebranded.)

And Golf Channel and Tennis. By the way where's Dolly?

"All your channels are belong to HD!"

Unfortunately, not all channels are provided by the channel owner in HD in the first place at the current time.
