For those that say we have all the HD we need, I'd still like to have:

***plex (all)
Epix (all)
C-SPAN (all)
The rest of Encore
Africa
Al Jazeera America (if it launches in HD)
BBC World News
Bloomberg
FMC
Military
Military History
NASA
NHK World TV
Ovation
Reelz
Sundance
The Hub
Universal Sports

+1. Any HD is good HD and there's no such thing as "enough" or "too much" IMO.

True.

I have everything I watch but more is always better.

Don't confuse those of us who now have all our recordings in HD that we think things should shut down.

Even though I didn't write it, that has occurred to me. Thing is, E! Entertainment Television HD came in last year; and, of course, it is from Comcast.

I don't know how accurate it is to say that there may be a lousy relationship between Comcast and DirecTV when it comes to the cable company's programming brands. G4 having been dropped by DirecTV, a few years ago, I figured was because of the satcaster concluding that the programmer was a bust. And G4 will be transforming into Esquire TV.

G4 only got on directv by buying out tech tv.
I want CLTV / CLTV HD on direct tv.

Sigh.

In 2011, "we" received AMC, ESPN3D, HBO2 West, 5MAX, WMAX, @MAX, HBO Comedy, HBO Latin, MMAX, AMAX, TMAX, Shorts, HBO Signature, HBO Family and 3net.

That is 13 HD and 2 3D channels.

But if you don't get the premiums, it was a lackluster year. However, if you are a premium subscriber, it increased the value of your package, especially with HBO costing more than the rest.

I don't care. Channels are channels when counting HD. I don't like half the ones we have, should try not count?

I'm good with whatever HD we get, at this point, whether it's a channel I get or not. But I can see why someone would see a year as not being much of one, like that year.

Though, AMC was a major addition, and a channel that we had seen a number of members here dropping DirecTV to go to Dish for it.

I like high end original dramas.

Ovation is showing Australian and BBC drama series you cannot see elsewhere. And Sundance has begun making original high end drama series as well.

So my wish list is Ovation and Sundance.

I second that.....and add BBC World News HD. Directv is still very weak where world news coverage is concerned. Even a good SD (not compressed to hell) feed of BBC, Al Jazeera, DW or France 24 English would be much appreciated by those of us who wish to know what's going on in the rest of the world.

I'd like having BBC World News in HD.
LR(non-CE): HR44, Mits 65C9; Office/FR (CE): HR22-100 + AM21, Mits 60737 + Mits 3DA1 3D adapter. Spare bedroom (non-CE), HR23. Genie WHDVR, wireless networking (yay!)

the only good shows G4 had was Arena and Judgement Day/Reviews On the Run and I didn't care much for A.T.O.S. once it swapped over from The Screen Savers. At the end the only thing good on G4 was Sasuke

If it airs in your market checkout the syndicated EP Daily, it's produced by the people behind G4TechTV Canada, which stuck to the Tech/Gaming format because of the conditions of their CRTC license, and includes segments from their shows like Reviews on the Run.

Anyone else notice that H2 is being delivered with a 1080i signal? I thought all A&E related networks were broadcast in 720p.

A&E HD - 720p
BIO HD - 720p
Crime & Investigation Network HD - 720p
History HD - 720p
H2 HD - 1080i on DirecTV (Wiki says 720p...but not sure how accurate it is & I can't check it on Dish as the receiver doesn't do native output)
Lifetime HD - 1080i *
LMN HD - 1080i *

*Previously owned by Lifetime Entertainment Services when HD feed was launched

Also, AVSForum states they broadcast in 720p HD in The Official AVS HDTV Programming Synopsis thread in post #1, it's still listed as History International HD as well. Again though I am not sure how accurate that is.

I never watched the Cooking Channel, but now that it's in HD I'm watching it.

Interesting while watching the DirecTV Beach Bowl in the lower left corner a HubHD logo showed up. Hmmmm could the Hub be the next HD channel?
