I'm convinced all those cables multiply and intertwine at night! Same behind the computer desk!

No socks, but I did find a couple of matchbox cars and some legos (not pictured).

I think that is the larval form, like a caterpillar. Twist ties are really their eggs, and the adult form is a wire coat hanger.

How many things was that one receiver hooked to? In my setup, if I deactivate and remove one receiver, its a power cord and an HDMI cable...done. Unless I want to remove the sat cabling as well.

Well, it was connected to my A/V receiver. It was also connected to a Mits adapter (then to the display) to allow us to watch 3D off of it. It was also connected to a modulator (top center) that distributed the signal throughout the house. Disconnecting that, meant I I didn't need the IR repeater system any longer (top right). I also discovered a few other cords and things that I just hadn't gotten around to cleaning up last time I disconnected something.

I'm sure Directv can't wait to get their hands on your unit.
