Is there a way to find out who is really local without calling every listing in the yellow pages (I count about 40 in the Nashville book) claiming to be authorized Dish retailers? The only retailer that shows up on the Dish website was 35 miles away but seems to be out of business.


Ask around locally =/
if your community or neighborhood has a site or local message board that may be a good place to ask.

Well, that's it, it would seem.

I am locked out of the system for 90 days for an error they are getting from Equifax which says there is a discrepancy between my SS# and DOB. After speaking with his supervisor, there is "nothing" the ERT can do about except send a memo upstream.

I've called Equifax twice and they show no discrepancy. When I gave DISH my wife's info to sign up, the same thing happened - she's locked out, too, now for 90 days.

This is a system failure without a means to address or resolve.

I tried one last thing-emailing the Executive Team at DISH, explaining what happened, and asking for help.

I got a call a day later in response to my email from a much more senior executive resolution specialist who was able to put in the override code. Installation is set for this Wednesday.

It turns out that it was the reputable, local retailer/installer who kept inputting the wrong birth date along with my SS# (even though he said he did not and got locked out after only two tries-DISH says you get about 10-12 tries before it locks out).

I would recommend that after you've done all of your homework and know what you want ordering directly from DISH online - no holding, no sales pitches, same pricing, most reliable.
