I currently have Choice Ultimate plus HD Extra Pack and HBO with Cinemax free for 3 months. My 1st year of my 2 year contract ends in 2 months. My second year discount i will get $10 off the package.
My question is, i want to drop down to Choice Extra, which is just below my current package. I also want to cancel the HD Pack. I feel the 11 channels of Encore and TMC is worthless to me because only 2 of the 11 channels are HD.
What i would rather do is get the Choice Extra PLUS HBO and Cinemax in which every channel (minus 1) is in HD. I believe HBO/Cinemax (after my free Cinemax promo), is $15.95/$12.95. I know this is confusing, but after the first year (50% off), and my second year ($10 off the Ultimate), do i come out ahead or will i be paying more? Will my $10 off be negated by dropping down to a different package? I know this is confusing.....LOL.

Max = 11.01 & HBO = 15.99
Extra = 68.99 vs ult = 74.99
Hd xrta = 4.99

You will keep your 2nd yr discount.

However... prices change Feb 6
HBO I believe $2 more
Xrta $2 more
Ult $3 more
Can't remember if max is going up.

My setup: HR 44, HR34, 2x HR 24, 2x HR 23-700, 4x C31's, Nomad...

So on Feb.6th, when i change to Choice Extra, it will be $70 minus $10 for my second year = $60? I am not keeping HD Extra Pack, so minus $4.99. I'm getting Cinemax free for a couple of months after subscribing to HBO, so on 2-6, i will pay $17.99 for HBO? If Max doesn't go up i will be paying $17.99 for HBO, $12.99 for Cinemax, $10 for HD, $60 for Extra.........yikes, over $100 per month plus my TWC Internet service $30. Looks like i may have to cut something. Thanks.

Max is NOT going up, and it would only be $11.01 if you also subscribe to HBO. Currently regular price for HBO/MAX is $27, after the increase in Feb. it will be $29.

OK, thanks. I may keep both, or just keep one. The main thing is getting more HD channels, by contrast getting rid of Encore and TMC.

Showtime/TMC offer 9 HD Channels (excluding the West coast HD simulcast), if you were to keep MAX and change to Showtime/TMC both would only be $24 per mo. with no increase in Feb.

That's a possibility, although i wanted HBO first, then one of the others. What i might do is drop down 2 tiers instead of one to Choice, there's only 13 HD channels more on Extra, but most of them i never watch. But yes, I'm an HD guy, and the 55 channels between Choice and Extra isn't worth it...i'd rather pay for movies in HD than waste my money on things i have no intention of watching. That's one of the reasons why i'm getting rid of Encore. I may do that (Max/Showtime). Thank you.

I got an online offer for Showtime at $10 per month instead of $12.99. Is the $10 amount because i have HBO? Or is the $10 amount for Showtime regardless of what else i have? And is the offer good for whenever? I want to keep 2 premiums. Currently i have HBO which i'm paying for, and free Cinemax for another 2 months. So if i drop down to Choice (will do so after Feb.6th including cancelling HD Pack), but keeping Max/Showtime and cancelling HBO, will that work? I think the free Max ends in March.

Each "premium" gets cheaper as they add them. I bet if u called u could get starz and showtime for $18 - 11.01 = 6.99. And HBO makes this complicated. Because its always more expensive.

Recently i called about billing issues and out of the blue she said without me asking if I want to get free Starz and Encore channels for 6 months, which is a rare considering you asked first if they have any discounts, of course I said yes even though there's nothing interesting on there anymore besides a few movies. So is always good to ask once in a while
