Damn, I was hopeful. I'll watch most games on tv but enough on tablet or phone that I need to have mlb.tv. If Directv offered the slingbox or similar that would also suffice. Oh well, maybe next year.

Directv doesn't need to offer a slingbox. You can get one and put it on anything. I use one all the time.

MLBTV pricing is out. $129.99 for premium. Looks like I will be dropping EI this year for this unless it is bundled in some fashion. But it doesn't look like it will be.

MLB TV is a much better deal and if you "auto renew", your subscription fee does not increase.

It is 119.99 for those on auto renew, However for those who want to get the triple a and other minor league team games too don't auto renew this time and choose to pay the full price and due the tack on for 20 bucks. Which brings the total to 149.99. Instead of 159.98 for both. Next year auto renew will work for both and the combine cost would be 139.99. Not sure why it didn't work that way this year. That is done by just ordering a new season now. As a result it bypasses the auto renew that is already on those accounts.

I know that, but instead of having the upfront cost of $250+ for an HD model, then having to hook it up to a receiver and rendering that receiver useless while the remote device is using it, it would be nice to have it built into the box and have the cost included in the hd-dvr fee.

Nothing is free and you can get a Slingbox for a lot less that $250 with zero follow on fees.

Well just got done getting mlb extra innings for 149.99 . all you need to do is call up and ask then when they say they can't then cancel and they will work something out. I bought it for 199.99 then given a 50.00 refund.

I must be the only one that thinks MLBEI at $200 is a steal. Just counting the 150+ games of your favorite team whoever that may be is worth that much. It works out to roughly $1.23 a game. You can't go to a three game series at the park for that. And then you add in that you have the entire schedule to choose from for a second game on a daily basis its more than fair.

200.00 is not bad but I was credited 50.00 up front for being a great customer I keep a -500 balance at all times and wow does that help me out all the time.

Just call and see if you can get it lower.

I thought the most negative balance you could have on your account is $100? I know it was like that fairly recently because I do the same thing. I just always use $100. Didn't realize I could do more than that. Will have to do that from now on.

You can't put that much on yourself but if you call in they will put as much as you want. At 1 time I had almost -900 on it. But if you do it yourself 100 is the most.

Make sure they do not charge you the 5 dollar fee for them doing it. They try that every time but I make sure I get a $5 credit.

That is why when I call up retention I get what I want-need. Still can't get what I want from CS though.

I'm only on the Family Plan, so I doubt I would get a discount (credits). I'm assuming you guys all have at least Choice. Anybody have any luck getting a discount with any of the lower plans (Select, Classic, Entertainment, Family)?

$150 for EI vs. $130 for Mlb.tv is a really close call but would probably cause me to do EI.

I'm on the autorenew for MLB.TV so it's only gonna be $119. That's still a good discount vs the $150. I was extremely happy with the MLB streaming last year. Excellent quality and always smooth(something I can't always say for the NHL Gamecenter streaming).

Plus, now that I have an XBox with the great NHL gamecenter app they have, I'm looking forward to the MLB season too since I saw on the MLB site, they are adding the split screen option to the MLB app as well(not sure if it was there last yer as I didn't have an XBox then).

Directv since 1999

Current Equipment:

HR34-700 -> Onkyo TX-SR607 -> Sony 40" KDL40XBR4
HR24-500 -> Denon AVR-X2000 -> Samsung 40" UN40F6300

HR24-500 -> Sony NSZ-GT1 with Google TV -> LG 32" 32LD450
HR20-700 -> Insignia 26" NS-26L450A11

I was not going to lose ei over $20 "150 vs 130" but if I didn't get it I would have went to mlbtv 200 is just to much. 1 thing with getting this cheap is that you have to pay full price up front not in monthly payments and then they will put a credit back on it.

No you won't. Worse case scenario is they suspend your MLB.TV account but there is no real way for them verify where you are as opposed to where your IP says you are. They'd have a bigger issue if you shared your account between multiple people.

I wish they would let us pick what rsn area we want that way my local team atlanta would be out of market and I would pick up fox sports Midwest. But that is just a dream. Until then mlbei and nhlci here I am.

That set up is great for you but if caught you will get in a lot of trouble.

:lol:

Trouble? It is not a criminal offense. The worst that happens is you lose your MLB Account. But, there is no way they can even know.
