When I called a couple of weeks back, they gave me a $60 upfront credit as well as waiving the $10 HD fee for 6 months....so in total a $120 credits.

This is the deal I got, too.

Called up and said, "cancel" as always. After some whining about money, I offered $100 one payment for EI.

Retention said no, and gave me $10 off 6 payments off EI and $10 off 6 months of HD fee. Total savings: $120.

They are being stingy this year, Ive called in twice and the best I could do was $50 off, I have 30 in credits on my accounts per month so that doesn't help either. I think i'll wait a few weeks since the first week or so is usually free anyways.

+1....so far all i have gotten is a 30 dollar credit. i would be more than happy with another 30, to make the total 140 which is about what i paid last year (i think i paid 135 after a 75 credit) but yes they are really being tight fisted this time around. i wonder if some bean counter at D finally got ahold of the retention dept and said cut it out. We have a good cross section of people on this forum, people that have credis, people paying full price, big packages small packges etc, and NOBODY has been able to get a good deal out of them. that means that theres NONE in the pipeline. Oh well you can cancel up to a week into the season, so that gives me two weeks to try and sqeueeze another 30 out of them at least.

I am on the Family Plan, with 1 receiver. I have had two straight years of discounts on MLB:EI, along with $10 credits for the past 18months. I called retention with every intention of flat out cancelling and I was offered $10 per mo. for 6months to off set the price. ($140).

I ultimately turned down the offer since I had already paid for MLB.TV and am giving that a whirl this year. I was impressed with PQ (not quite EI level) during last year's free games of the day and the hope that I can listen to the different audio options (radio announcers with the video). Not to mention the ability to watch on my Kindle.

Losing MLB channel will be tough. Hopefully I won't regret turning down the offer. But if I can get offered something, with minimal effort, I am sure you guys can!

I called again tonight after getting nowhere 2 weeks ago.
A retention specialist in Utah said that while there are no specific EI discounts available, she could offer me a $10 general credit for 6 months.
That brings EI to $140 for the year.
Since, for other issues, I recently got a $15 credit for 12 months, followed by another $5 credit for 12 months, I decided not to press any further.

Premier sub, with FS+, EI, CI, and ST....

MLB needs to get do what the NBA and NFL do by allowing broadband access with PPV packages. It's kind of crazy they haven't done it yet.

well I called sunday night and got what i think was the utah retention...anyway, i weaseled another 35 credit out of them to go with the 30 credit from wo weeks agao making the total 65 off of the 200 for 135. neither of these are MLB EI credits, they are just general account credits. this is still a little higher than id like to go but there are still no MLB EI credits in their system and time is growing short. i may just be happy with what and pay the 135. might try one more time during the first week of the season.

Does anyone know if D* will offer a good deal to add MLB EI during the free trial this week?

Last week I cancelled it after being a 6 year subscriber since they only offered me a $30 discount to renew so I dropped it. I've been considering trying out MLB.tv on my Roku but watching the MLB EI free trial this week is going to tempt me to call back and ask for additional discounts to add it again.

Plus I keep seeing commercials about it being the lowest price in 5 years. Is that a joke? It's still $200!

Thanks!

I called in on Sunday morning and got $10 off for 6 months so that puts my price at $140 overall.

MLB.tv is a good deal. The picture quality is quite good too. That's the biggest surprise for me. I also love it for the versatility in what I can watch it on. That's why I don't get MLBEI anymore.

Thanks. I checked out the free game of the day last night and both HD feeds looked good. I love the option to start at the beginning of the game or jump to different innings. I might give it a shot. I didn't have the Roku last season.

Maybe I'll call D* one last time near the end of the free trial and see what they offer me :D

I was furious with them yesterday. As a former subscriber, I was Emailed an offer a few days ago to log in on March 31 and April 1 using my log-in info to watch any game at no charge. It was one of those "Hey, enjoy our package for free for a couple days so you might be interested in renewing" type of offers. So, I logged in and, how convenient, NOT ONE game was viewable yesterday! I kept getting the "We're sorry, but this game is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later" error message.

What a crock! How convenient that on their supposedly free promo day, all the games magically come up as "temporarily unavailable".

FAITH: I find the lack of it disturbing.

You spelled National Hockey League wrong. ;)

That's not true. Brian France is Selig's long lost brother. Mike Helton is his long lost uncle.

The Major League team owners think their "mindless moron" is worth $22 million a year. I can be dumb for half of that.

Probably a repeat question here but are the games on Fox accessible to watch or I can only watch the Yankees and Tigers game today since I live in Jersey? Wanted to watch the Giants.
