Having same problem here as well. I need to update CC info for billing and have been trying to access site for a week now without success. I was starting to think I was the only one experiencing this problem. Just a few seconds ago the site finally loaded, but I was not able to update my info as the site was not responsive. Quite frustrating.

If I try to ping directv.com it seems quite high 120-140ms range plus it drops out at times. If I ping www.directv.com is seems more normal 50-70ms range.

Try to use www.directv.com instead of directv.com

I gave up on their site for the most part, a long time ago. I had to access it using dial-up from a vacation location (no other choice), and after they started using a lot of Flash based scripting, it slowed down tremendously and finally, I couldn't complete the log-in to my account (it would run forever and never log me in). I communicated this to them, but their answer was basically - "sorry, we aren't going to fix it" (all they had to do was provide a non-flash log-in link on the page).

I assume the slow down may be due to something similar (too much display data for too small a bandwidth). I know some of their pages depend on Flash for their functions (e.g., the channel list) and that was fine for me as long as they still worked. They just took a while to load, but when the password verification quit, that was pretty much the end for me. I found a work-around for password entry, but rarely use their website (partially because it is sooooooo slow). Not many other websites are anywhere near this turtle level of performance (their graphics are great though - wu hu).

Response times connecting to the website seems to have improved quite a bit today.

www.directv.com is definitely quicker routing then simply typing in directv.com in the address bar.

What they really need to get rid of is when going to my account overview, everytime it covers the screen of annoying instructions in blue lettering, all I'm trying to do is look at my balance or find my recent activity which is also a PITA to get to, I know is about advertising but how much can I take gosh.

Just jumped on for the first time in a while and it looks like they let the CEO's kid design it. Damned annoying and really poorly laid out.

Can't find ANYTHING quickly with this new design and the ads everywhere are completely frustrating. Just plain crappy web design (from a former professional web designer) to make the customer have to scroll all over to find things.

If they had a "basic" option losing all the flashy graphics, scrolls etc it might be tolerable but this thing is useless.

(1/28 edit) But.... on an extra note, just went to check out the Dish Network website. Looks a LOT like D*'s site, except I can actually find pricing on packages more quickly on Dish. Don't know who came up with the ugliness first, but somebody shoulda' said NO to this nasty design.

Just an extra note:

It's not slow on my end but God is it ugly. I never understand why something that works perfectly has to be "updated/upgraded". Do people really say 'well I WOULD HAVE picked Directv but their website is ugly"?
