in demand is useing wgn america HD now but why is Directv NOT remaping it in HD to MLB EI?

iNDemand uses it because not every cable company has WGN America, especially in markets where Tribune has a local station where the penetration is limited to satellite and few cable providers. (In NYC Time Warner picked it up about 2 years ago in their digital tier, Cablevision picked it up in 1997, only to drop it about 3 years later because most of the programming was similar to WPIX) WGN America has about 75 million subscribers compared to TBS's 100 million.

Probably a backhaul HD feed.

TSN-Jets feed is not a backhaul.

...and I'd trade the 2 SD feeds of Oilers v Canucks tonight for a single HD feed...

back in the free view they seemed to use a mixed jet's / habs feed. With lot's of bell tv ad's in it.
I want CLTV / CLTV HD on direct tv.

Are you talking about the SD feed? I was talking about an HD feed.

Yeah, wasn't a backhaul for tonight's game.

It was a TSN-Jets production but shared for TSN-Habs as well.

It looks like a bonus CBC game Thursday night, with Montreal at Buffalo on 774 and 774-1.

And as an aside, if Bettman was so certain the American public does not want a Canadian doubleheader on NHLN every Saturday, why do they insist on picking up the early HNIC game every week?
There are always tons of American games at 7:00 Eastern every Saturday they could show.
It has become painful to turn to channel 215, but Saturday's Montreal v Toronto is always a must see.
NHLN continues to be the poorest excuse for a sports network I've ever seen.

The last couple of years the CBC has had a few midweek HNIC games. Only three more Saturdays for NHLCI and HNIC, then its on to the playoffs on the networks of NBC. Only way we will see Canadian feeds of these is if two Canadian teams meet in the same round and then I suspect NBC would just pick up the CBC or TSN feed and put it on one of their networks.

Can one of you who has GCL tell me if you get the Canadian game in HD? I was hoping they would have a free view so I could check it out myself, but no such luck. After many years of subscribing to Center Ice, I have waited just a little to long to get the Canadian games in HD.

I just checked for you and the Montreal vs Toronto isn't available on GC tonight.
If you stop responding to them or put them on ignore, then eventually they'll go away.

Blacked out because it's on NHL Net -- but GCL does have Canadian feeds in HD.

Looks excellent too, especially now with the 60 fps feeds, plus no NHL Net squishing/tickers :)

Do my eyes deceive me?

I see a Calgary Flames HD feed on 773-1 at 6:00 tonight. The Minnesota feed is on 774 and 774-1.

It's televised by Rogers SportsNet West, and so is the Oilers game tonight at 8:30, but the Oilers appear to be SD only.

I guess we should be grateful for small favors.
