To me it's pretty bad here (New York, NY DMA). Mind you I just switched a couple of weeks ago from cable where they pass the local HD signal "as is." Don't know if it's an issue in general or with my equipment.

No issues here in the Dallas DMA

I'm sure Directv can't wait to get their hands on your unit.

It looked great on WCBS out of NYC. Thats to be expected since it is not only an O&O, but the flagship as well. The cable providers don't pass along locals "as is" either.

I expected the halftime show to show some pixelation or macro blocking but looked pretty good as well.

I saw mosquito noise around the graphics. Not sure if I've ever seen that before. Maybe I was sitting too close to the TV? Who knows. BUt to me there was a definite difference. I'm getting my OTA antenna back up and working soon though.

My cable provider did indeed pass it along "as-is." This isn't one of the bigger national providers. It was Service Electric. I recorded from OTA and cable using windows media center on two different PCs and compared file sizes. They were about the same.

Try lowering your "Sharpness" setting.

At this point I believe it was in the uplink from wboc to Directv. I will check my game recordings at home compared to my cousin's house where we watched

That really isn't a reliable testing method.
