As of today, MLB is included at no cost with Ultimate, Premier, Mas Ultra, or Lo Maximo on new customer offers.

my comments and opinions are my own and do not suggest endorsement by my employer

I called in today to see about any possible discounts on MLB EI and was told none are available. I went ahead and cancelled. Oh well...I'll make do with MLB.TV this year.

I find that it makes more sense to me to get the MLB.tv package instead based on where I am when games are on. If I'm at work I can fire up my 360 and watch it. Or I can watch it on my phone. To me the quality of the picture is perfectly acceptable considering it's being streamed. That's why I'm kind of baffled as to why MLB can't do what the NBA and NFL have done and make one all inclusive package.

I'm going with MLB.tv this year instead of extra innings because of the Fox Saturday blackout. If my team is being broadcast by Fox on Saturday then I can watch the game 90 minutes after the conclusion of the game, Can't do this with EI.

Now the NFL has to come up with something similar to MLB's. Tired of DTV sticking it to us every year with the monopoly. There should be ala carte games for every major sport anyhow. Charge us $15 a game but let us choose our own game.

You can buy ST for a day at like $30 for a Sunday.
If you stop responding to them or put them on ignore, then eventually they'll go away.

MLB TV is not such a great deal at $130 for HD vs 200 for extra innings. Plus some ISP's limit monthly downloads on base packages in the range of 200 gigs.

Called in for my yearly cancellation and the best offer I received was $23/mo for 6 months. So, for the first time in years, I'm going strictly to MLB.TV. Hope my new TWC Internet can handle HD when I decide to watch on the big screen.

Called in last night after sending an email to D about when my contract was up(6-01-2013) . They gave me a number and PIN to call . I did some research on what my monthly costs would be if I switched to Dish . The monthly savings would be more than enough to cover the cost of MLB Extra Innings . I told the extremely nice woman at Directv about my concerns over rising programming and equip costs and that I really looking to see if D could save me some money . She checked my account..made me a few offers , we went back and forth about the offers, programming and such. Final out come , 10.00 credit for 6 months, 200 prepaid Visa Gift card, MLB Extra Innings for 40.00(199 charge minus 159.00 credit ) , free Starz and Showtime for 6 months . Had to do a 1 year agreement for the 200.00 GC.. Was also offered a free Genie, free install on that as well , declined as the Genie offer came with a two year agreement

What exactly do you ask for that they give you the prepaid cards. I already was given my deal but if I can get a card during my next FIGHT I will give it a try.
This year I was given a $100 credit due to I have all the discounts that I can have on my account.

The only positive I see for EI vs MLB TV is picture quality.

MLB TV beats EI, hands down, on cost and additional features (ie alternate audio including the synced radio broadcast, stats and replays of games)
SONY KDS-55A3000 and a couple of Vizios; SWM16; HR34 NR; HR22 NR; HR20-700 NR; H23-600 NR; R22 NR

There are other things. If you have a HR34 you can watch 2 games at the same time. Also not everyone has great internet to support MLB.TV. Last year when I was using it and the kids were out of school using Netflix, we were burning through 350 gig a month. Lucky for me my provider does not have a cap on the plan I am on but we did see issues with the internet lagging with us all using it for different things in the house at the same time.

Also last year one of my biggest things with MLB.TV was I did not have a device on all TV's to watch it at. Having it through DirecTV will make it easy for me to watch it on any tv in the house.

That there is the reason why I go with extra innings I have fast internet but it will slow down when doing live games and such. My internet company says they do not cap the speed but when I get to the end of the month it goes slower. When I get my deal for directv I tell them I am thinking of going to MLBTV and usually they match there price by giving discounts or as in this year they gave me a credit to my account.

I didn't ask for anything specific .. I told them I was interested in saving money on my bill and if I wasn't able to do that I would have to consider switching to my local cable company or Dish. I told them my one and two year savings if I did switch but repeated that I didn't want to switch but the economic reality was to switch. Have had directv a long time , love it but the cost was possibly a factor. I was Intrested in getting MLB EI for free as well ... They came up with the prepaid Visa offer

I called in after seeing the Sunday ticket and EI free for new customers and was given both packages for free as well as a 20 discount for 12 months....I have been with DTV since 97 with the premier package. I typically do not look for discounts but I do like a free sports package now and then

They WILL offer free NFLST to new people. Just like them offering free MLBEI to new people.
However current people have to go the route of asking for deals.
