Now that I've had some time to play around with my new Hopper setup, I have noted the following with regards to Sling and Hopper Transfer:

The Sling function accessed from the Dish Anywhere mobile app is MUCH faster on the Hopper w/Sling than my old 722/Sling Adapter setup. The Hopper is much more responsive, the way it always should have been. This is also true of my regular Hopper hooked up with the Sling adapter. Much better than the 722.

On the flip side, the Hopper Transfer app works ok, but it is Slooooooow. Takes almost 45 minutes to prepare/transfer a 30 minute Disney channel show. I know the current software is ver. 1.0.0 so hopefully this is improved in later releases. My old Pocketdish/622 combo transferred shows much more quickly than this.

When you set a timer, choose the prepare for mobile option on the timer creation screen. By doing this the movie or show will be ready shortly after the event is done recording and you save yourself the time of preparing the full thing after the event is recorded.
