I don't really get the point of in-home streaming. If the app allowed you to stream from anywhere, over wifi or 3G, that would be a great app.

Totally agree. There is really no reason in most cases to watch in home while there is an HDTV available. Outside the home would be great. Maybe one day it will happen.

I use it to work out in the morning. Take my iPad in the garage, jump on the machine and stream video in home while working out. My kids are not allowed a tv in their bedroom, but every once in awhile we will allow them to stream a movie or something on the iPad that they can watch up in their room in their little "tent" they setup for a slumber party.

I know those are odd use cases, but real ones in our house.

Praiseworthy.

I get a text about 10 seconds later saying she is unplugging the "slingblade" as she likes to call it. Love that woman.

I have a Slingbox as well, but I'll use the DTV iPad app first if it is there. Less latency and having to play around with the Slingbox. Plus, when using the Slingbox you are occupying that tv which drives my wife crazy. At least for the scenarios I mentioned in the previous post. If I'm on the road and want to watch a game on Slingbox and I change the channel remotely, I get a text about 10 seconds later saying she is unplugging the "slingblade" as she likes to call it. Love that woman.

That is why I bought a second one. Now I have Directv Slingbox from home and a Time Warner Cable from work. I can see everything and it saved my marriage too!
