Btw: I called the Sinclair Corp HQ at 410-568-1500 (their listed number, please don't list any unlisted numbers here.) Don't know if I got anyone who can make a difference, we'll try that tomorrow. :)

Peace,
Tom

There's also their website and a contact page, though it's not set up exactly to solicit comments about their ethics or programming. I posted there once a couple of days ago.

Luckily there is no Sinclair owned channels here in the northern part of Illinois, We already had to deal with tribune stations last year, that was one of reasons why I bought a am21 not knowing when the WGN/CW station were returning, Now that they returned and have most of the locals in HD now there just collecting dust.

Good, the less massively redundant, resource hogging BS the better. Ironically though, I actually use two of their stations OTA, because my in market, DirecTV provided locals are such complete and utter CRAP.

The content or the PQ- or both? So many locals were provided in the Bay Area that I never saw any OTA stations I'd want.

I love how they say Dish and cable isn't being affected. Until their contract is up too and they want to negotiate. I get my fox, MYTV and CW from Sinclair. I've got cable and HD via Clear QAM so I'm ready.

There is quite a few comments being posted on the DirecTV Facebook page about this... https://www.facebook...irectv?filter=2 Quite a few seem confused and seem to think its D* threatening to take them away when in reality its Sinclair...

Anyway, only 4 stations total owned by Sinclair in my state, of which three of the four are in the Nashville, TN DMA, while the other one is in the Chattanooga, TN DMA.

Our local CBS station (WHP) apparently is owned by Sinclair. Didn't know WHP had been sold to Sinclair until I saw the scroll during "2 And A Half Men" the other night.

It was a chore, but finally got 12-1 (CBS Cincinnati) to come in. HR20-700 did not show any OTA signals when i went to change the 15 season passes on the box. Had to go through antenna setup and reboot the box. Now waiting for the guide data to populate so I can set them up. Must have lost OTA during a recent update and didn't notice.

If I lose my ABC affiliate the only shows I'll actually miss are Modern Family and Jimmy Kimmel Live. Worst case scenario for me is that I hook up my AM21 until the dispute is settled.

Sony KDL-55EX720
HR44-700
AM21
Sony BDP-S360 Networked

I am only loosing CBS21 and CW15... neither of them i watch....

So let them battle in there greed

Even if i did watch any of the stations, since i have been with Directv they have always worked out a deal before the plug was pulled or at worst case a few days after... so to me a few days with less channels wont be the end of the world!

I DONT want them to WORK IT OUT ! F' Them If they do your rates go up ! Duh !!! 21 and 15 just want to double DIP ! Its OTA and its free. So why do they want to charge twice ? Break out the antenna. I already posted on WHP 21 Web site and told them off. Hope everyone rally's around all ther OTA's in ther area !

King Cable Cutter ! XBMC , PLEX , Raspberry Pi   Love my New Boxes :)

Come from the land of Pennsylvania where Cable TV was invented ! Had HBO back in the 70's and total cable bill was $ 12.00 and all TV's got Cable with no extra fee ! Been using satellite since the C-Band Days and Dave and Charlie

Not everyone can get OTA, though.
If you stop responding to them or put them on ignore, then eventually they'll go away.

Yes, it would. Columbus has it worse though, they lose ABC, Fox and CW.

What's worse is that Sinclair has only owned WKRC since June. And I think we went through a dispute with its old owners.

In case I need it, does the HR34 work well with the AM21N? I know it can scan, but any issues?

If we can get our CW back here in Ra Cha Cha from Sinclair, then all will be right and good with the universe.

Not everyone can get OTA, though.

We all understand that. The problem is, that it has become upside down :eek2:
The people that can get OTA are now forced to subsidized the ones that cant. The OTA's should be paying the providers to re-broadcast its programming and the commercials which the commercials are the reason they are in business ! I say NO to It and if enough people felt the same after awhile the stations will be forced by the ones paying for the commercials to expand its VIEWER BASE !

Sorta like headlines saying "Exxon will no longer sell you gasoline...... at $2.00 a gallon"

Unless you buy a different kind of car (OTA), in which case Exxon will *give* you the gasoline for free. And there are some people, for one reason or another, who don't even have a realistic option to put the OTA car into their garage. I think it is *that* situation, not a station's right to pursue a reasonable profit, which has a lot of people ticked off -- some people don't have a realistic opportunity to obtain the free product, and they get charged for it (and get cut off when they aren't "paying" enough even as others are given the product for free).
