I got RZ for free last season. I wish they would offer the RZ channel for $99 for the season, I'd buy it. I don't know how they make any money giving it away for free.

They don't, it's just a retention strategy. You mention another provider has RZC, DISH for example, and depending on your account status they may offer it for free. DirecTV pays substantially more for ST and if they were to offer RZC as a standalone they would undermine their strategy.

I wouldn't pay $99 for RZC, but I would pay $49. The $36 I pay now, $9/mo. for 4 months (Sept.-Dec.), is pretty close.

At $5.82 per week or 97 cents per hour, I'm not complaining. And it's much better than the free version.

Because you can only see one game at a time. With RZ you see everything exciting that happens with every team. I use two TVs, one on "the" game and one on RZ. Football heaven!

Not if you have a HR34. You can split the screen in half.

Personally I really wouldn't want to give up the screen real estate.

Not saying I do either but its not true that you can only watch one game at a time.

I use my TV's pip and two boxes to switch games on and off. Full screen when I want, dual when not. I also use fios for local and have a set of buttons on my remote to quickly flop among 6 games. Well, usually 5 with one being red zone.

I normally just watch my main game, then when it goes to commercial, switch to the mix to check on the other games, which also lets me know when mine comes back, then just switch back.

Don't have a 34 or want one but I do have 5 DVRs. I have never liked split screen or PIP, need to see the full screen.

That's exactly why I get ST. And to follow the Giants, Ravens, Falcons & Colts.
If you stop responding to them or put them on ignore, then eventually they'll go away.

I had ST last year, but when I look at directv.com now it doesn't show it as active under My Programming. I think I don't want it next year --am I going to have to watch out for them suddenly renewing it even tho it says it isn't active?

I was checking out the frequently asked questions on dtv's website and it says for sports programming you need to have a landline phone line hooked up to your receiver. I don't have a home phone. Do I need this for either NFL Sunday Ticket or for subscribing to the sports pack?

I'm not sure if I'm even going to get it this year. I'd like to just get the RZC, but thats not an option, and most of the Pat's games I get here on local TV in SW Virginia.

We shall see. As it is we suspend DTV for six months out of the year anyways it may get canned outright.

So pricing for ST this yr will be $225 for basic and $300 for max. I was just curious which package most people will be choosing this yr.

Isn't anyone worried about the sequester?

OK, lets start with something that is not easy to admit and I'll do it in true 12-step fashion.

My name is Lee and I am a Cleveland Browns fan. I have been for over 45 years.

Every year I toy with the idea of dropping/not renewing it because it's painful to watch and there's nothing left to hope for by Halloween.

And every year I convince myself that this might be the year they turn a corner and I wouldn't want to miss out, especially after having paid my dues for so many years and being so psychologically invested it.

Last year at $199 there was really no thinking about it. I jumped on the reduced price and was happy. Didn't even toy with not doing it. At $225 I'll probaby go through the lather-rinse-repeat cycle again and ultimately end up signing on.

I wonder if the conflicting quote of $199 some have reported might be an early bird/renewal price for subscribers who already had it. You never know. We'll see.

Go Browns!
