I received ST for free last year as a new subscriber. When I got the notice that it would be $37.49 a month to renew, I wasn't that interested so I called to cancel. I wasn't even intending to negotiate. However, the rep asked me if I would be willing to pay $7.49 a month instead of $37.49. That offer was too good to pass up so I accepted. I'm pretty sure anyone who asks can get that deal.

I am an Eagles fan. I guess our sanity can be called into question at times. I'll still get ST Max even if I can't negotiate a lower price. Wouldn't miss yelling at the TV for 3+ hours on a Sunday afternoon in the Fall for anything!

I'm really curious to see how flexible directv will be this year cutting deals for NFLST. I just lost my 'Showtime Free for 12 Months' deal today (or, I just noticed it today) and that reminded me that it was a year ago this time when I signed up for NFLST for my 12th year (I think that's about right) - the Showtime deal was part of the deal they offered.

Im curious if anyone who got the half off offer got taken off auto renewal this season. As apparently I was told by a CSR that the 36.99 offer for last season would not get you automatically renewed for 2013. If thats the case, then I will not be happy at all with Directv in the terms that they hid that stipulation in the terms of the agreement which I should of known last year.

I am sure you will be when you call and get a better deal then the auto renewal rate.  I would not worry about it.

I talked to one of the people in the presidents office, and they said they will manually put the auto renewal rate on starting in July. I plan on calling sometime before the season starts to get a better deal. I will probably see if I can get a half off deal again or the 7.49 a month deal.

You'll know if you're set for autorenew if you see something like "2013 NFL Sunday Ticket             0.00" on a bill soon.  That will show up the month before it starts charging as the autorenew notice.

Exactly. I have had to call twice in past years due to them not removing it the first time I asked

I called yesterday for a DVR upgrade and during the call I asked if there were any ST specials.  I received ST Max for a single payment of $147.99. Second year I took that deal.  Half price seems fair to me.

I've been out of contract for a few years now. Never paid for ST. Last year was suppose to get it for $120 or something like that, but the CSR lied and billed me for the full amount. So when I saw this, I called and they just gave it to me for free due to the "mix up" as they called it.

I am willing to sign a 2 year contract this time, as I want to upgrade to the genie. So hoping to get a good deal for programing, the genie and ST. I am on auto pay and haven't asked for any specials for a year now. Not holding my breath though.

KSBills,

The first CSR I talked to said I was not eligible for anything until next year.  Asked for a supervisor and signed a new 2 year agreement on Friday.  This is what I received.

1 HR44-500 with 2 C41-500 free and dropped shipped today.

Sunday Ticket for 147.99

$5 off HBO for 6 months.

$10 Credit for 12 months

$200 Visa Gift Card.

I think it was a good deal since my only other choice is Comcrap and I was not going anywhere anyhow.

That seems like a good deal. I would have wanted the ST for free though. $200 gift card is nice. I piggyback on a friends HBO2Go account for HBO. I know that's evil. I currently have two HD-DVRs. Would move the one in my living room into my sons room and replace it with the Genie. Should give me 9 tuners? Or am I wrong on this?

Yep, 9 tuners, and as such you would need a SWM16
