The Rangers-Flyers play tonight on NBC Sports Network, however MSG and CSN Philly are also carrying the game locally. Apparently, NBCSP doesn't have a national exclusivity on this game. I am in the Lancaster, PA area and wonder if the game will be blacked out on NBCSP since CSN is also carrying the game, yet of course, we don't get CSN Philly on D*.

Taking bets..

It will be blacked out on NBC Sports for all viewers in the CSN-Philadelphia and MSG Network markets. It doesn't matter whether or not you can actually receive the local RSN, they can still exert their exclusivity rights within their markets.

What does NBCSports put on during a blackout? Blank slate? Darts?

Comcrap still sucks! Blackouts should only pertain to the carriers who actually have the channel.

Update - CSN SN is NOT blacked out in Lancaster. Woohoo! Let's Go Rangers!

Surprisingly, it was not blacked out for me either in CT. I wonder why NBC Sports Network can show games when the NHL Network doesn't?(I'm sure me mentioning it just woke someone up who will make sure it doesn't happen again :nono: )

Blacked out here, in Comcast Country (Philly).

You'd think that since NBC Sports Net IS Comcast, it'd be on, but no.

Was the game on CSN Philly? If so, no way they would not black it out. If it was not, it does not make sense.

Oh I don't know. Webpages. TV listings in the sports page.

How do you know any game is on CSN Philly. For all you know, none of the flyers games and most of the phillies games aren't on either.

So you aren't missing anything.

I simply went to the teams' websites and they always list what radio/TV channels will carry the next games. On the Flyer's website for that game, it listed "CSN and NBC SN" for the TV coverage.

And there you have it. NBC SN is *not* going to have the game on if CSN is showing it. If they were not, then NBC SN is going to show it.

No surprise.

(Thanks for looking, I didn't have enough interest to check it out.)

NBC Sports Network, MSG, and CSN Philly all carried the game and it was NOT blacked out on NBC SN here in the Lancaster, PA area, oddly.

I saw something about inner and outer blackout areas. I guess Lancaster is outer and the game was allowed outer?
