Please use this thread to discuss your feelings about upcoming national HD channels.

This thread will not be as tightly moderated as the rest of the site, but here's the tradeoff...in exchange for being able to rant a bit more, you can be assured that absolutely no one at DIRECTV will be using this thread for reference.

You can ask for all the new HD you want, but DIRECTV's marketing department knows that the 100-150 contributors to this thread are only a small part of the nearly 20,000,000 total subscribers.

*Please remember that all forum rules are still in effect.
*Please do not "bump" this thread.
*Other threads that do nothing but anticipate HD channels for which there is no information will be closed.
*This is not a DIRECTV vs. Dish thread, there are other threads for that.

If you have any questions as to what belongs in this thread or an individual channel thread please read the latest DIRECTV Programming Forum Rules (Link).

Since it costs 2.4¢ to produce a penny, my 2¢ worth is really 4.8¢ worth.  That 4.8¢ is my own and not the 4.8¢ of DIRECTV, Dish, or anyone else for that matter.

OWNHD and FSSDHD "live", with Bloomberg HD probably next.

The HD Channel List thread is updated when any HD change is noticed during the daily check:

http://www.dbstalk.c...287#post3203287

Post #1 of the HD Channel List thread has the totals, listing, and dates of when each HD channel was added:

http://www.dbstalk.c...ad.php?t=172899

The Notification thread is updated when something significant happens with a satellite or HD:

http://www.dbstalk.c...288#post3203288

You can subscribe to one or both, with both threads being locked.

A vote for the non-HD Encore channels:

West
Love
Westerns
Suspense
Drama

Flix, Sundance and NASA would be nice ... don't want any of those on regular basis tho.

After getting something like 22 HD channels in last year, the list of remaining non-HD channels I'd *want* to see in HD is shrinking rapidly.
HR34-700 --> HDMI --> Sony KDL-46EX501
HR24-500 --> HDMI --> Sony KDL-32EX401
HR24-500 --> HDMI --> Samsung LN19A450C1D (only 1 tuner active)

Wheres Bloomberg at?

Still wondering where GSN HD is, partially owned by D*. :confused:

Still want
FMC
GSN
HUB
Military Channel
Outdoor Channel
Pac 12 Network
Reelz Channel
Sportsman Channel
Sundance Channel
TV Guide Channel
And every channel ;)

Theres really not much left.

Next year should be a good year for D* after D14 is launched. :)

BTW, with the exceptions of the additions today, didn't SR say we wouldn't see more new HD until Q3?

Noticed that too;

They haven't updated the former non-full time HD channel guide label for it yet. And until they do "Hide SD Duplicates" isn't going to work for it in CIG.

I'll have to do that too. I see both channels in the guide. I remember this happened with the last HD release too where the SD channels did not get hidden.

We are no longer asking for Fox Movie Channel, we are demanding it! :mad:

Stop with all of the excuses, DirecTV!
