It was a game from their OTA network. DirecTV picked it up via the satellite feed they use to distribute the game to stations in the network.

They still probably had to pay that station to distribute the game out of market. If not, there's no reason they'd use CSN Houston over KCOP, KCAL, etc.

or maybe they used the feed that must be given to the MLB and they pay the MLB for the right to use that feed.

I want CLTV / CLTV HD on direct tv.

I am seeing a bunch of Phillies feeds on DTV's MLB schedule online now.  Will this be the norm for the rest of the season?  Can I cancel mlb.tv so I can just DVR their games with the home team announcers?  (Sorry, I'm a displaced 4 for 4 Philly homer! :D )

Looks like the Phillies and Astros feeds are in the guide today. Let's hope it's not a screw up in the guide. Nothing ticks me off more than that.

Also, today's D-Backs @ Rockies game has neither team broadcasting it so it will be in MLB.tv only.

That appears to be what shows on both teams site for their broadcasting schedule.  It is also not supposed to be on ESPN or on MLB Network either.  Bummer.  I have really enjoyed watching Cargo this year.

I have this game on the radio.  There was a play the umpires had to review to see if a home run was hit (ruling was foul ball).  It turned out the ball hit the wall below the yellow line (from what the radio announcers said), so it definitely wasn't a home run; hence, the call stood.  They weren't sure if it was fair or foul, but that cannot be changed by replay (yet).  They did mention, though, that the only camera angles available were those provided by the stadium itself since there's no TV broadcast of the game.  That got me thinking if lack of TV could have an impact on home run reviews in the future.  These non-televised games are rare in the regular season nowadays.

TV coverage has an impact on all reviews. Other than the NHL which requires a camera over the goal and tennis that uses a specal system I believe, all replays in all sports are tied to TV coverage. Higher profile games get more and better angles.

Any reason why we didn't get the Blue Jays feed of their game vs the Orioles tonight?  Did they not have one?

Their webpage says sports net-1 and MLBN. Maybe the latter precluded the sports net feed.

I was at work. Did they have the Giants-Cardinals game available in extra innings this morning?

Does anybody know why the Padres scheduled this game vs the Blue Jays in the ESPN exclusive window?

It's amazing what a 20 second Google search can uncover.

My channel guide is showing that a lot of these games are on MLBEI now.  What I can't understand is that both Astros feeds are blacked out here (San Antonio DMA) even though we are in Astros territory and it's the Astros home broadcast.  What gives?  I expect to not get the other team's feed because of blackout rules, and when the Comcrap Houston feed wasn't on D* I knew the game would be unavailable... but now, when the channel guide shows both of the feeds?  What's up with that?  Or do I not understand the blackout rules (MLB's are the worst of all major sports, IMO) the way I think I do?

DirecTV has no contract with CSN Houston, so it can't show Astros games within the Astros home markets. It has the right to show the Astros feed out-of-market through the rights it gets from MLB as part of the MLBEI contract.

Ah, thanks.  I've long been wary of cable and satellite providers getting into the content business for this exact reason (among others).
