My Vip 612 DVR crashed twice within 30 minutes just now. Once after deleting dome recordings, and then while just watching. Is this due to a recent software update? A few months ago this behavior was common, but then it calmed down. I hope this isn't an indication that we have buggy software again. - pj

time to run diags on SATA drive ... search for "memory map" and diags special codes (by pressing buttons on remote)

There has been no software updates for a very long time. Sounds like either the hard drive is going, or it's overheating.
