Current eMachines systems are really nice at a great price - check out the T3265 - $749. DVD-RW and everything. Desperately needs a FireWire card, and a video card helps a lot becuase you then escape shared memory... But it's STILL an excelent deal. They're very well-built now too. They're (at least the T3265) from First International Computer (FIC). Not TriGem Korea which built the eTower eLemons... They now have a decent power supply (advertised 250W, the label says 300...); competitive performance, an AGP slot, AND amazing prices... I hear their techies are good, never had to call them on the new eMachine though.

Gateway's techies are now absolutely awful. The systems are overpriced and Intel. They have nothing to make them stand out. Gateway needed to buy eM's CEO...
