Did you check all your connections? Is that 24 you mentioned a 24-500? Do you have any other HD DVRs? If you do, replace the 24 with it and see if that clears up the problem. You might also go to component wires instead of HDMI, if that cures it you'll know you have an HDMI problem. Trouble with that is, it might be the HDMI port on either the TV or the HR or it might be a bad HDMI cable, which would be a rarity.
