I have a Genie (34) and two HR24's.  Works great.  BUT...

I've noticed that some trick play of content from either HR24 thru the Genie isn't as smooth as on the HR24 itself, mostly FF and REW.  Meaning, I recorded a show on HR24 and am playing it thru the Genie and I hit FF or REW.  Picture freezes momentarily on multiple FF Or REW button presses, then "kicks in" after a few seconds.  But since most of my content lives on the Genie, hasn't been an issue for me, just something I've noticed.  I think this is an issue others have experienced as well...

Yep - this is a problem for all of DirecTV DVRs.  If you are using 'Whole Home' and viewing a recording from a different receiver FF and REW are screwed up.  It is even worse with the latest firmware on my HR24-500s.

I don't watch any live TV so it is a constant pain.  I've given up hope that DirecTV will ever fix this - It may have been this way from the beginning of MRV...  It has been that way as long as I can remember.  If they haven't fixed it at this point they are not likely going to fix it.

I wound rather that they just completely remove the 'Auto-correct' that jumps back in time when you hit stop FastForwarding.  It is just plain wrong when viewing a remote recording.
