Don't get me wrong, I very much appreciate the "Quote in PM" button ...

That being said, wow .. I need some help. I have way too many times clicked on that button, thought I was replying in-thread only to find out I just sent a PM to someone. Arrrgggghhh!

Any chance the Quote in PM button could be shifted to the left side of a post rather than the right side it's currently on? (pretty please?)

It's a good suggestion, and makes a lot of sense.

I wonder how many would quote into PM if it was in the place where quote is now.

I was lost at first as how you were even seeing it as you were not listed as a club member.  Then I had seen somehow you were in it as a secondary group.  I fixed that so you now show correctly. (But I was looking and looking as to why.)

Seeing it is a plugin, I am not included to move it.  That is because with each updated, we would need to remember to "fix" it again and that is not something I would really care to have to do each time.  The update can come from the site software, the theme, or even the plugin.  You knew know what might reset it.

I personally have not even come close to clicking it by mistake.  But thats me I guess.

Perhaps the"Quote into PM" option could be shaded like the "Like This" option to avoid the confusion?

I'm usually going fast and am just looking for some visual clues to help speed things up. Heck, a differently colored "Quote" button would help because then I'd just look for the color and wouldn't even have to read the text.

Clearly I stop reading at the word "Quote" in "Quote into PM" which is my biggest problem. If the help is from within me, then so be it. It'd be nice if the computer did the work for me, though. ;) :)

I'd think the quote button should be shaded (or black like the 'Post' button in the reply window) simply because that seems like the most common button target ...

That too would work.

See, one person asked for one change and then another asks for a different change.  I clearly stated the reason we do not look to make such changes as then we may need to make them time and time again.

I actually think making the button a different color might cause as many problems as it would be intended to solve.  It also seems (based on feedback) that the incidences of accidentally clicking the wrong/unintended button are fairly low... so making a change that requires babysitting each time anything else is updated, to solve a low-incidence problem..  I would side with David on this one and say let it simmer a bit, and I bet you get used to the button arrangement pretty quickly.

Wondering if folks could make a macro so that a button combo on the keyboard would activate the Quote button. [?] I'm pretty sure it can be done onna Mac, but I'm not a Macro-maker. PCs must also have this capability, no?
