"Personally" (whatever you mean by that) you also don't need to passive-aggressively broadcast to everyone what you would rather do, which is the exact opposite of "personally". Just do it. Nothing I have said was directly engineered to enhance your enjoyment. Mission accomplished? It was to help lower your expectations if you were expecting this to be worthy of viewing, which is about the only thing that indirectly might enhance anyone's enjoyment.

We disagree; you enjoyed a show that I think might be the worst show ever in television's 85-year history. Good for you. Now go watch it over and over.

That's a pretty tall order, Cavemen and Baby Bob were pretty bad...

"Personally" (whatever you mean by that) ...

It means "in my own personal opinion". The same thing you're expressing but I'm doing it in less than 1023 words. :)

You have challenged people to prove to you that the show is good. That is unneeded ... especially since you didn't make your post "just to be contrary". People can enjoy the show without needing to explain it to you.

Thank you for your opinion. Moving on ...

Episode One: The Elephant in the room, too may Parkinson's jokes. But their point was made.

Episode Two: The theme was don't watch because I've got Parkinson's, watch us cause we're good, and happen to have Parkinson's. (Don't be friends because I'm a lesbian, be friends and I happen to be a lesbian)

Ok I got it, and I will let those episodes slide because they felt they needed to make the statement, but now they have to step up to the plate because I am going to judge them and compare them to my standard for continued viewing. They told me I should.

You guys are being too critical on the show because the main character has Parkinson and not sugar coating his disease.  How is so different from that down syndrome tv show, Life Goes On or when Tom Hanks Philadelphia?

I just couldn't get pass the first episode of The Crazy Ones because Robin Williams is that same guy that makes faces in Mork & Mindy.  That show felt really scripted and felt really polish from the start.

Life Goes On wasn't full of Down Syndrome jokes and Philadelpha wasn't full of AIDS jokes.  I didn't find anything funny on the first 2 episodes at all, Parkinsons or not.

Not sure I get your point here.  The show IS scripted.  It's not a "reality" show.

Same here, I expected a heck of a lot more. Being disabled and power chair bound my whole life, they blew it on the crippled jokes. (Yes I said crippled don't anyone have a tizzy) that is what I am, plain and simple. But they tried to much slapstick humor and it really didn't evolve properly IMO

This was the show I was truly waiting for, when I saw the preview sometime ago, and it failed to keep me entertained. Season pass was deleted

It shouldn't be about his Parkinson's, it should be about what a great actor he still is and Oh BTW he has Parkinson's. And 99.9% of people would say wow look at what he can still do, but not have to hear it every few minutes that I have Parkinson's.  They don't need to, everyone can see it

His character has Parkinson's. The plot of the show is not how normal can MJ Fox be but how abnormal people around him treat him because he is different. MJ Fox's character is trying to be "normal". Some of the lack of normalness is outside of the disease (he wants a sit down dinner with the family ... they want grab and go). Perhaps he should not try to serve the food (and lose that "personal victory") but it is a victory just to sit around the table with the family.

Perhaps MJ Fox wants to forget Parkinson's and lead a "normal" life ... I don't see how he can do that while playing in a comedy about a character having Parkinson's. Some of MJ Fox's other roles (since diagnosis) have been in spite of his disease ... working around the disease to the point where you wonder if he is in remission. This series is not one where an actor with Parkinson's plays a person who does not have that disease.

It is not a reality show about MJ Fox's experience as an actor with the disease. It is a scripted comedy.

And possibly another NBC blunder, it will be very telling over the next 2 weeks with ratings. I know I gave it a bump last week, but not again from me anyways in the coming weeks

From a ratings standpoint, I'm not sure what NBC could do in a time slot that includes ABC's "Grey's Anatomy", CBS' "Two and a Half Men", Fox's "Glee", and The CW's "Reign" (premiers October 17). It's against an ABC veteran drama, a CBS veteran comedy, a Fox veteran musical drama, and a new drama about young Mary Stuart (Mary Queen of Scots) on the CW. Ironically, it might be a good time slot to schedule a police procedural to fill out the variety of choices.

Handling Cory Monteith's death might bring additional attention to Glee (his character will die October 10th on the third show) - although their audience was down last week. With DVRs and other delayed viewing what a show is up against is less important ... but there is still a lot of the audience that doesn't have modern technology.

Gray's Anatomy was down compared to all previous year's premiers. Two and a Half Men didn't do too bad. After a while "veteran" shows don't have the draw they used to have and even the best shows on television fade.

FYI: The third episode aired was more of a "normal" dysfunctional family show ... centering on the three children and not Michael's disease.

MJF is very talented, very appealing. In the right vehicle he could have gone 8 years, on top, straight. His guest shots on Scrubs and The Good Wife were beyond brilliant. This was not the show for him; it might have as well been a slap in the face to him, and to us.

Unfortunately, with all of his abilities, he is apparently unable to recognize a worthy project, and unable to steer it into a properly-written and properly-helmed show. A pity, as that wastes all of that talent.

I have seen bits and pieces since I ragged on the show and declared it the worst POS ever on TV, but none of that changed my POV. Really, the dumbest, most self-centered dialog ever, and never once funny. I did not realize that a major network, even NBC, could screw the pooch quite this badly. Better luck next time MJF; we are all rooting for you.
