Domino’s is testing the feasibility of delivering hot pizza direct to your door via octocopter drones.

Will they still keep to 10 mile radius for deliveries?

It's a high tech idea but I don't see it being practical. Weather conditions will dictate when it can be used.

I asked Mrs. Fluffybear that same question and our thought is Dominos will probably phone once the drone arrives at your location and you will meet it outside (front lawn, parking lot, etc..)

If you're referring to Dominos, they have no such policy.  The delivery radius varies by store location.

I'm sure Directv can't wait to get their hands on your unit.

My bet it's a freebie in advertising for the pizza king. More buzz, no pay. Dreamed up by the marketing folk.

Yeah. Never going to happen in real life. Those things are too expensive to risk getting them stolen every other delivery.

Heh. Leno had a clip of one where the drone says to the guy who just got delivery, "What, no tip??"- then he zaps the guy with a laser or somesuch....

Never say never.  There have been a number of products and ideas which I never thought would see the light fo day and they have proven rather successful.

I'm sure there will be some form of tracking system (even a lo-jack type system) which will be incorporated which will deter most people from trying to steal one.

I think there would be too many collisions with the flying cars.
