So I started watching and quickly realized I was having to read my show.
I can do that in my swing on the porch with a book.
Booooo!! to no translations in this program that I will never get to see and Hear.

What's wrong with subtitles? I really enjoyed this documentary.

Man, I totally should have made this a poll.

Will you watch a movie if you have to read it?

Yes, but maybe I'm not the person to ask -- I watch and very much enjoy foreign films w/sub-titles. You'll see and experience things you won't find in most English-language indies.

OK, so consider me a little off-beat, but I do like my films a bit on the raw side.

Watched it, errr read it. Not personally religous but I understand the church and it's membe'rs point of view. They certainly should have the right to protest but the girls in this film act like a bunch of spoiled brats with no respect for anything or anyone. They complain about the police the court and the system of government. If they did some of the things here that they did there, they would really have something to complain about. If they were to grab a random NYPD officer and try to kiss them, they'd get tazed, clubed, cuffed and thrown in jail in no time. Not sure what the public porn demo was all about other than pure shock value. It showed that at least one of the 3 on trial was at the very least, nuts.

I'd be missing out on some great movies if I didn't watch movies that were subtitled.

+1 on Runner's observation.

And I'd add that the actor's body language, voice volume and inflection impart a ton of information, so one is not just "reading" the film, unless all focus is on the titling.

"Laxguy" means a guy who loves lacrosse.

Ever seen Downfall? One of the best subtitled movies I've ever seen. Not to mention Japanese Horror films. Awesome stuff IMHO.

There are 100's of foreign speaking films that need to be appreciated in their native language.  Dubbed films should be banned.......if it werent for the visually challenged, I'd say they should not even exist.

I wouldn't own most of my Criterion Collection DVDs and Bluray if I adhered to a no-subtitles policy.

I prefer subtitles over dubbing and voice overs.

The Passion of the Christ is subtitled and did quite well.  ($600 million+)

Free HBO this weekend and came across it when after it already started.  That being said, they knew what they were doing and the possible consequences of their actions.  They would have never done this in a mosque.
