I'm trying to fine tune my dish and I'm having trouble getting good quality on the NHLhd and NFLhd channels. What satellites are theses on(ex:99©,103(ca) or 103(cb))? And on that satellite what transponder numbers. Ive done some research and I keep finding its on 103, but I dont knowif its a or b and I don't know if thats up to date.

Also on the back of the dish the skew is 0 to -90 turning it clockwise and 0 to 90 turning it couter clockwise. I need a skew of 99 degrees, whats that in relation with how the dish is setup? Whats the number I should be at?

NFL Network HD is on 103ca TPN 18
NHL Network HD is on 103ca TPN 22

For reference you can find the latest list updated weekly in the transponder maps thread in the tips and resources forum:

but you should not have to aim the dish to an specific transponder. a properly aligned dish receives signals from all applicable satellites

Also the quality of you picture will not improve from a dish alignment. You will only improve rain fade and it would happen on more than just those 2 channels if dish alignment was your issue.

not telling practically, but it's _theoretically_ IMPOSSIBLE !

aiming is going to satellite(s), but do that by selecting weakliest tpn will give you best desired result of it

Not necessarily the case. some transponders are low by "default" and I am not referring to spots. So try to get that "one" specific transponder might actually hurts the others

it can't, if you know what is a tpn and what is a sat and what is sat's position

I think he's trying to say you can't really adjust a signal on one specific transponder on any one given sat separate from other transponders not he same sat. All transponders on any one given sat will be relative to each other signal strength wise.

Ok thank for the help. What about the skew settings? Like I posted above

"Also on the back of the dish the skew is 0 to -90 turning it clockwise and 0 to 90 turning it couter clockwise. I need a skew of 99 degrees, whats that in relation with how the dish is setup? Whats the number I should be at?"

I'm using a hawaii/alaska dish. So 0 is horizontal. As you turn it counter clockwise its 0 to 90. as you turn it clockwise its 0 to -90. I need 99 degrees for a tilt

What's your location?

As that appears to mean a 9 degree tilt counter-clockwise (from behind the dish) placing you somewhere near the midwest.

Are your other channels coming in fine? Say, ESPN (which is 99c) or ESPNU (which is also 103ca) If ESPN is fine and ESPNU has problems similar to NFLHD, you may have a bad LNB. When mine starting going bad, the 103ca sats are the ones I'd lose. Never had a single problem with 99c. I was told that when LNBs die it is much more likely to affect 103 rather than 99 for whatever reason.

Pretty much most HD channels work, except for NHLHD and NFLHD. Once I set those transponders I'll be happy with that. Yes I'm midwest. Whenever it stops raining here, I'll go back out there and tune up my dish.

Perhaps you want to post how your signal readings look like.
