It was announced and also the Directv contract is up with MLB. Lots of changes likely to occur, which will be positive for fans. The marriage of online and television seems to be the most obvious.

Additional highlights of the new agreements include:

• Games included in the FOX Saturday national exclusive windows, which were previously blacked out to MLB Extra Innings and MLB.TV viewers, will be available beginning in 2014.

Sounds like that refers to games that are not on Fox during the Fox window.

There are very few of those, most teams schedule around the window to get their games on TV. Almost everyone interpreted this as out of market fox games being included in EI like the out of market abc games used to be included in center ice.

They don't have to schedule around it for local broadcasts. And now they don't even have to worry about out of market.

Despite the links posted above, I've not seen anything in the Fox releases that is clear.

We will see.

Yes they do, that's why the Angels have to start at 7pm tonight instead of 6pm like every Saturday that FOX doesn't have a game from 4pm-7pm

The prime time window may be different. I've seen local games played during the afternoon (east coast) frames.

The prime time window may be different. I've seen local games played during the afternoon (east coast) frames.

Games scheduled 3 hours before or after the beginning of FOX's baseball window are allowed to be televised by other networks.  If the start time is less than three hours away (in either direction), the game cannot be televised by anyone other than FOX, and the game cannot be shown on MLB EI.  That's the current rule.

FOX's day games are usually at 4 PM ET.  Thus, games can start at 1 PM (or earlier) or at 7 PM (or later) to avoid the window.  FOX's night games are at 7 PM ET, so games must start at 10 PM (or later) or 4 PM (or earlier) to get around the exclusive window.  It is possible for televised games to overlap FOX's games if they last more than three hours, because of rain delays or extra innings.

There were a few times in the past when a Rockies game was scheduled at 4 PM local time on a Saturday (6 PM ET).  This was only two hours after FOX's games, so there was no TV.  Earlier that week, the Rockies play-by-play man explained that they weren't allowed to televise because of the FOX window.
