I think they realized it didn't belong in the 558-563 range.  That was a really weird spot for it.

Probably more like this was the plan all along. They don't just haphazardly do anything.

Re: Playboy on the move…

There has been some goofy *s* from DirecTV.

Perhaps DirecTV should hire one of us to remap the channels lineup.

Back to the topic of this thread:

From past years, apparently Q#04 tends to yield zero or next-to-zero in HD additions, correct? So we can anticipate zero or next-to-zero HD additions for the remainder of the year? (Consider this short of DirecTV and Pac-12 Network actually reaching a contractual agreement for carriage.)

Last addition of previous years:
2012 - November: TWC Sports / TWC Sports Deportes (ION and DIY in September)
2011 - September: AMC
2010 - October: SONY (Mega in September)
2009 - October: Altitude
2008 - December: Golf (split) - October: C&I, Fox News

Many of the adds had to do with when the channels were available.
Past performance does not guarantee future results. Channels can be added at any time.

James Long,

Thank you for that information.

I didn't recall that Fox News Channel HD was added so closely to the Nov. 4, 2008 Election Day. (I seem to recall it took little or no time to add Fox Business Network HD.)

And I won't assume "past performance" because, with exception of 2011, all of the last five years' final quarters included at least one HD. Most of them, of course, weren't national. And there may not be anything special about the timing; with exception, of course, with a programming launch. (Or, in the case of TBS HD added in October 2007, the Major League Baseball division series games.)

Thanks again!

Another boring 4th Qtr with no new HD channel additions from Directv as usual. Hope they prove me wrong, but I highly don't it!

If locals count for anything, NYC got another LIL in HD, just noticed it without a festivus pole..heh

...WNYE aka UHF Channel 25..a City Hall events / NY Social & Night life calendar kind of channel....

history shows this was once a PBS station in the NYC area, and the Radio station same call letters still operates on the low FM dial..with NPR & BBC news and local govt. programs..

Nice addition...narrowing down the remaining NYC area UHF stations still to be added by D*

as well as those that still do not beam in HD...to a count of 2

WLIW 21 : Garden City (PBS) they themselves do not beam in HD , so nothing for D* or Sixto to see in test..............yet

WNJN 50 : Montclair, NJ aka NJTV (PBS) they do beam in HD, and is the only other metro NYC PBS station to do so...

There are some Asian & Spanish low band and or digital alternates (which D* carries none of those for any of the NYC channels) on the UHF dial but those 2 are the lone standouts as high powered stations.

Thanks D* for WNYE....next up for LIL..... NJTV plz...

WLIW is launching an HD signal, Time Warner Cable and Cablevision have announced they will be adding it. It's been pushed into October though.

Here's where I wish we had Fox Deportes HD...

I'am a NY Yankee fan with mlbtv and the Yankees are on Fox (Which mlbtv blacks out) but my local Fox is showing the Tampa and Baltimore game, but lo and behold Fox deportes is showing my Yankee game but in dreadful sd.

So again, I'am wishing for...

Fox Deportes Hd

Telemundo Hd

and whatever else everyone wants.

That'll change next year -- the Fox Saturday afternoon games will be on MLB.tv (with only the game being shown by Fox in your local area being blacked out).

I would rather see GOLTV HD back. More soccer than Fox Deportes. But I don't mind Fox Deportes HD.

Good call on both fronts. I watch Fox Deportes for baseball too (although for the Red Sox!) since my local Fox plays the Braves all the time (although they did show the NYY/BOS game last time.) So I wish Fox Deportes was in HD, too. It is on local cable in HD, and needs to be on D*, too. I wonder if we'll see Telemundo HD for the next Olympics. I also wonder why there is no east coast Unimas feed.

CSS won't really have much reason to exist once the SEC Network launches next college football season.
