Does HBOGO work well for those with DirecTV?

A lot of us with FiOS are pulling our hair out over repeated problems using HBOGO. Specifically sign-in and activation issues. FiOS always blames HBO, HBO of course blames FiOS and the system remains glitchy as hell.

 

For those with DirecTV and HBO, how does it work for you? Do you run into the same issues that FiOS is constantly having? Thanks in advance for letting me (and others) know. Appreciate it.

I used it extensively when it first came out, and had no problems to speak of. I've not read of any major issue on the board, which would be a better indicator than my own experience even if I used it every day. So, I bet you're pretty good to go with it.

Nope doesn't work good for me , Because Directv doesn't support anything I want to use HBO go on.

I turned off HBO to save a few bucks but while I had it, it worked beautifully on every device I tried it on.

I thought Roku was the only device unsupported by DirecTV at this point?  What else are you referring to?

I'm referring to my 2 Roku , why does there have to be something else?

 

I don't think its right I pay for HBO just like everyone else.  But that's not good enough Directv needs me to pay them $12 per month more to put Receivers in my 2 locations I use my Rokus.

By the way, HBO/Go works fine for the devices I have.  I've used it to catch up on some series when I didn't want to turn on the big TV.

I've used hbogo through both fios and directv. Never had any real issues with it. I've used it on iPad and iPhone and pc both on wifi and 3G. Been pretty good all around. I don't tend to watch a lot on it but I have used it. For the record, when I had the fios option, the roku worked well, too.

I tend to use the on demand more because a lot is in the house and the quality is a bit better and the hbo on demand with directv matches the hbo2go offerings.

Where in your contract says that DirecTV has to support every single device you buy (own)???  if you want a "box" that gets HBOGo, get an Apple TV

You can also switch providers like I'm in the process of doing. This "buy something else or tough nuts" attitude really doesn't work for some people.

HBO Go on Roku isn't in my contract anywhere, but it is included with Time Warner Cable and Dish Network both.

I didn't complain, I pointed out that my relationship with D* isn't authoritarian. I can go whenever I like. After learning that I had my dates wrong, August 2nd my ETF is equal to one month of service. The only thing that I may wait for is new Tivo models.

Some random forum poster saying "go buy an Apple TV" annoys me. I've made my choice, and it's Roku.

Explain this to me. If you really want hbo2go, what difference does it make on what device? As you pointed out as your service date time and when the etf matches a months payment. So does Apple TV. Why contemplate dumping a months payment to get out when you can dump the same amount and get what you want?

I just don't understand changing providers over this. I know everyone's priorities are different but I just don't get it.
