use your SCH-I510, download free dishpointer app (many of them out there) and look at the sat from your backyard

For the zip code of 54830, the Azimuth will be 150, Elevation-33, Skew 70 for 61.5 for the WA and EA.

"For the WA (Western Arc) and EA (Eastern Arc)?" :confused:

How can one set of coordinates be for both arcs?

Also the TS posted a picture (upside down :) ) of a Dish 1000.2 with an EA twin LNBF. Shouldn't that LNBF actually be pointing at 72.7 with 61.5 received off-axis?

In fact the DIRT rep.'s numbers here appear to be for 72.7 even though he refers to 61.5.

And BTW;

Since dishpointer.com does not have a multi-LNB entry yet for this newer EA twin LNBF, which equivalent substitute should you select from the satellite drop down box?

I do apologize for not provide both arcs and I will provide all for using 1000 series dish. For the 1000.2 EA, the Azimuth-150, Elevation-33 and Skew will be 70 for, 61.5 and 72.7, for the 61.5, 72.7 and 77 using 1000.4, the Azimuth-154, Elevation-34 and Skew-73. For the WA using the 1000.2/4 the Azimuth-215, Elevation-30 and Skew will be 114 for 110, 119 and 129.

Thanks

Thanks for the clarification;

Though for future reference dealing with other subscriber locations, is there a chart or something somewhere for the 1000.2 EA dish alignment coordinates?

As I mentioned earlier the dishpointer.com site has no entry for that newer twin LNBF in the multi-LNB drop down box yet ...

You’re more than welcome and a lot of the tools we have are internal and do not have forwarding links for our customers. There are third party sites but we can’t recommend one way or the other, Google has been useful for customers that have installed their own equipment. I wish I could be more help with the later part of your question.

OK Mike, I understand;

One last question though (I promise :engel08: ).

While this may be a reach, but any chance the 4, 1, and 3 degree difference in azimuth, elevation, and skew respectively between the 1000.2 EA and 1000.4 EA for this TS' location holds for all other locations in the U.S.?

Because if it is I can simply use sites like dishpointer.com for the 1000.4 EA's settings of any U.S. locale and then convert over.

At least until dishpointer updates their site.

HoTat2, you don't need to know the angles exactly; the instrumental error (a scale at antenna) has it as +/-5 degree.

You knew, the angle are good for initial aiming, you must do fine tune it anyway. No magic numbers here, sorry. :)

Actually skew is much forgiven for circular polarization, so the error in the tune is miniscule.

So since all the settings are within 5 degrees, for all practical purposes you can safely ignore the differences between the 1000.2 and 1000.4 EA precise dish pointings (outside of academic interest) and use the 1000.4 EA one (since its the only one available from dishpointer) and then fine tune the dish from there?

according to my dish point screen a dish 300 Az 140 elv 29 for 61.5 on my VIP 612 receiver.

As the OP is using a DISH 1000, that's not very helpful.

I think it helpful enough to start aiming the antenna; he will do fine tune anyway.
