I know this may sound like a dumb question but I am setting up a S5 dish (4 output) with a SWM8 to get my single wire for the H25. My question is does the satellite have to be aquired on the dish before the receiver can validate the setup?

Thanks for your help you all are great!

Get the dish workin first. It gets activated from a day signal so if its not set up it can't get activated.

Yes, you wot be able to "validate" more like save the set up unless you have a working dish
