Just so we are all clear, it is Elmore Leonard the author who died - not Leonard Elmore the former basketball player and now color analyst.

I immediately thought of the basketball player, too.  I remember when an unheralded TV actor with my name died.  I figured I'd finally do some research and find out of we might have been related, but it turned out that he had taken my name as a stage name.
