SO I was doing my weekly check of my timers and i noticed that the Breaking Bad series finale was not showing up on my schedule. I was puzzled as tonight's episode is recording as I type this. I brought up the guide and jumped ahead to next Sunday and low and behold the listing is there but no indication that a timer is already set to record it. It has the correct guide info such as OAD and episode number, it just looks like there is no timer for it. I went ahead and set one and now it is showing in the schedule of events to record. Anyone else notice this or is it just one of those weird anomalies that I was lucky enough to encounter. The receiver is a 722 and all my other timer for next Sunday are showing up in the schedule. just thought I would share the info......

I saw that earlier today and thought maybe my 622 just hadn't looked that far ahead yet.  I just set the timer on that ep for new ep's only, after that I looked at what it tagged.  It only picked up the series finale and two old episodes on next Saturday.  Thanks for the heads up.

The first re-airing later that night isn't being picked up by either of my timers.

And last nights episode wasn't an issue? Both are longer, but that shouldn't make a difference.

Thanks for the heads up. Manually set a "Once Only" timer for the finale.

Yeah dish network does as well, only thing is the recurring timer I had set up did not have the finale on the list of events to be recorded. When I went to the finale on the guide it did not have the timer symbol on the show. I set a new timer for it and then it looked fine but when I checked it again today it is not in the list of events to record nor does the episode have the timer symbol on it in the guide. When I select the timer it has no episode old or new listed. So as I said I have created a manual timer for ch 131 on 9/29 from 8:55pm to 10:25 pm. I did that earlier today and so far it seems to set to record. It must just be a quirk in my 722.........

Nope last nights worked fine.  Somehow the finale is showing up as a different show completely to the DVR as are two episodes on the previous Saturday.

Edit, just checked both timers.  My new one isn't picking up the finale any more.  I think since they are showing every episode this week it is overloading the timer and just hasn't caught up that far ahead yet.  I've had this happen with other shows that have large syndication's, like The Simpsons, where there are dozens and dozens of shows a week.

Well if it helps explains whats going on with my 722 the first image is what the 722 sees when I set up a timer directly from the guide on the finale 9/29. It says searching for events put the timer does not take.

The second picture is the manual timer I created and thankfully (so far) it seems to be working.

I have never experienced this before with so many old episodes being aired all at once but hey anything is possible....
