I am considering switching to Direct after 17 years with Dish. I talked to a sales specialist today in one of the retail outlets who explained the intro offers, etc, which really does appear less expensive than what I'm paying now for a comparable package. (I currently have the Americas Top 250 with HD & Blockbuster at Home & would be looking at Direct's Ultimate Package). I am assuming (or at least hoping) if I go with the DVR, it will be the Genie HR 44 & then a mini model (or whatever they're calling it) for my 2nd room. My question is this; I assume the HR 44 doesn't have a built-in OTA tuner, but do they have an OTA adapter for it like Dish has? I would definitely need this as I now have a Dish receiver with a built-in OTA tuner & would not want to lose that capability.
Secondly, can anyone who has had both Direct & Dish comment on any PQ (Picture Quality) differences? After doing a some look-ups via Google, it seems more opinions give Direct the edge on PQ.
Any help would be appreciated.
