Just upgraded to a new Genie (HR 44/500) three days ago.  So far everything is going okay EXCEPT for a few issues.  Not really sure what the cause is for the problem.

1 -- Trying to get Pandora back.  Instructions say to go to MENU, Extras, and Select Pandora.  Well, Pandora is not there to select.

2 -- When I go to MENU, Search and try to access TV SHOWS and ON DEMAND it tells me to wait 1 hour.  Well, folks it has been 72 hours!

Are these issues common or do I need to wait longer to see these items appear on the screen?

Thanks,

Elby

Poor original software install. Do a double red button reboot (RBR) and wait 24 hours.

BTW do you a YouTube icon in Extras and a Parental/Web Video menu?

Also, how is the Genie connected to the Internet? If you press the - button, does it say Internet connected?

Drucifer -- that is a negative!  Do not have the YouTube Icon in Extras and a Parental/Web Video menu.   Yes, before you ask -- I am connected to the internet.

Thanks -- I will double red button reboot.

how fast (or slow for that matter) is your internet connection?

These things are now downloaded from the net

My connection is an upper level DSL hookup.  I figured it would be downloaded from the internet, but the connection wasn't an issue with the previous receiver.

peds48 -- just did a speed test on the modem -- 21.7Mbps down and .813 Mbps up.  Also noticed last night that none of the On Demand channels are available either.

Another strange conflict -- When I go to the DirecTV home page and check my account -- my equipment ..  It shows my new Genie, but it says I am not connected to the Internet, even though when I hit the "dash" button it say I am!   Is this a clinch that may be causing my issues and should I be call a service rep to get it changed?

No-- My account says not internet connected, but it is... Did you do the double RB reboot yet ?
If not try it, I know you flush the system, but at least it will try and reset the equipment. What version of software is on the system now ?

A double reset to flush the Guide cannot be done blindly. The first reload has to be at a certain point before the second reboot will actually flush the Guide. It's safest to wait until it's fully up before doing the second one.

There's another double flush where the second one needs to occur at the second step of the restart.

Latest software release is 0X741.  Just checked the system and found out that the double reboot apparently worked.  I have got Pandora and the others I was missing.

Thanks

Yes it was!   Thanks to all.  In addition to the double reset, I also did a reboot on the internet modem this morning.  Noticed it wasn't recognizing the new Genie.  Maybe a combination of both.
