+100! Modern TV actors often never went near a stage, and are used to getting away with mumblecore improv dialog and whisper lines. There's only so much compression and EQ and great mikes can do.

One of my fave things is to subtitle the live band songs on SNL. It is truly amazing what they're actually singing about, or not. Usually it's a bunch of nonsensical stream-of-consciousness pornographic angst-soaked drivel to which a Millennial would say, "whatevers".

Loved the cartoon guy show, but hated the ending at first. But I won't spoiler it up here. It's great series.

I did have subtitles on the whole time, tough to pick up a lot of the hurried, low-key Britspeak.

I do believe it is "Whatevs"!  Since I have 2 of them of my own, I hear it often. :nono2:

OK, there's an hour of my life I will never get back. Amateur Hour. Witless errant stab at social commentary. Chicks are hot, eh? Not on the ep I saw. Sure, she "put out", but it was completely gratuitous; they shoe-horned that scene in just to include a sex scene, and it had no purpose and did not move the plot. What a snore. I think I saw someone's back for a split second in the dark, and it was hardly erotic.

There was a scene between Alicia Florek and her Governor-elect husband knocking boots in the campaign bus last year that was about the sexiest thing I've ever seen, and it was just them from the neck up, mostly clothed. On CBS. On a Sunday night. In prime time. I need a girl that looks like that at 45 years old that can act and fake an orgasm like she can. The "eroticism" in BM needs an oil drum of Cialis by comparison.

It's usually safe to talk honestly and openly with people because they typically are not really listening anyway.

The booty call on BM was made BEFORE cartoon candidate aired. I'd say that was the weakest of the eps. Though the implementation of the Blue Bear was quite well done.

So I sampled the worst ep of the lot?

The scene I am talking about was a part of that episode.

Agreed, the implementation of the cartoon bear was the best thing about the ep, but that's not saying much.

Have to admit, the very first ep about the pig was pretty awful too. But the total memory module ep was so good Imagine Films or somebody bought it and is going to make a feature out of it. And the one about bringing back the dead BF was very soulful and haunting, well done and thoughtful. Too low key for American tastes, but so am I.

You must've missed the "Auto Recorder" ep. But overall, the idea of BM was great: modern, edgy sci-fi short stories brought to the screen. But for American audiences, they tended to be a bit overwrought and over the top, quite hit and miss. But I would love to see more in this vein, just not so goofy or overdone. The pig one was just disgusting and silly. The prison/re-enactment thing was painful to watch with the woman screaming the whole hour. The "Auto-Record" one was the best, very provocative like an updated Twilight Zone ep, and the substitute dead boyfriend android was realistic and thoughtful, but a bit depressing and flat. The cartoon candidate was a good idea, well-implemented technically, but kind of went nowhere. A great direction for future drama, though. I'd love to see an HBO series set in the near future.

I just watched the both seasons and I totally dug everyone of them.  They were so good!

If you've ever seen "Revenge", practically everybody on the show whispers their lines. It's the weirdest thing. Def need sub-t!

I'd love to see another season of BM. It's kind of like experimental TV, and nobody is doing that these days.
