Since I'm coming back with a extremely cold icy install tomorrow AM, I'm back to put in my $0.02 worth!!

Reelz HD please  -- or how much of it is available HD with the VOD??

Expix Drive-In - great old 'B' movies, reminds me in many ways of the old Voom MonstersHD.

The rest of Epix just isn't worth much.  They repeat much more than any of the other 'premium' channels by a wide margin.  That's too bad too 'cause they tend to get the blockbusters sooner.  :(

DBSTalk.com forum member Alan Gordon has not yet posted a list of programmers with a linear high def not being carried by DirecTV.

He usually lists those programmers carried only in SD by DirecTV and, afterward, lists programmers not carried at all by DirecTV which are also available in HD.

If Alan Gordon returns here, I'll eliminate this list. But, in the meantime, here is hoping this one will do. (I believe I will be missing something. I apologize for that. Anyone can let me know.)

I think you did a really good job of the list, so no need to eliminate it.  :)

I do see a few missing channels from the last list (a few I noticed personally):

  • Indieplex
  • Retroplex
  • OuterMax
  • CW East (WDCW) [DNS]
  • CW West (XETV) [DNS]
  • PBS (DNS)
  • Ion West

Some of the RSNs and Spanish channels are omitted too as well.

Otherwise... it looks REALLY good!  :)

For what it's worth... while there are some channels I'd like to have in HD, I really don't have much time to watch them.

So... outside of HD feeds for The CW DNS channels, I'm good... and I won't care as much about them if DirecTV would carry my local affiliate (WSWG-DT3) which launched in HD a couple of months ago.  :(

Our local CW is on a low powered station and is bit-starved.  Probably the worst TV picture I've seen in many years no matter how you try to watch it.  D*, E* or OTA, it just sucks!

Fortunately the CW app for the iPad works great and will mirror via my AppleTV to the big screen.

All of the VOD content is in HD, but because VOD and linear rights don't always match up, the content is mostly limited to their original series.

Expix Drive-In - great old 'B' movies, reminds me in many ways of the old Voom MonstersHD.

Epix Drive-In is SD only. Viacom used what would have been Drive-In's HD feed to launch the HD only Epix 3.

  • Encore Drama
Encore Drama no longer exists, it was replaced with Encore Black. Not sure if you saw my previous reply, but in addition to the rebrandings last month, they also launched HD feeds for Encore Classic (formerlly Encore Love), Encore Suspense and MoviePLEX.

I did some editing to reflect what had been mentioned in subsequent posts. (Thank you.)

If I missed anything, it's because I was working on this [Wednesday 01.08.2014] between 6 and 8 a.m. ET, did some checking to make sure of accuracy, and was also working on limited time. (Meaning, I had something else I needed to do.)

Viacom doesn't provide VH1C in HD, so there isn't a feed for D* to send us. I to would like it in HD.

bio is also going to be renamed. I don't even care to bother looking it up from a search engine to be reminded of what that new name will be. That's just how impressive the rebranding of bio—and here with Military Channel—are.
